I also would recommend Card college and the Daryl Series for card magic. Bobo's book for coin sleights is also a good place to start.
The existence of tricks does not imply the absence of magic.

I also recommend Mark Wilson's Complete Course in Magic, it has a lot of material over a wide variety of fields. I also recommend Joshua Jay's Magic: The Complete Course, it has less material but focuses more on effects that have a bigger impact. Joshua Jay's book also comes with a DVD that explains and demonstrates many of them.
Are you watching closely?

If DVD is a must, look for Michael Ammar easy to master series first.
Most memorable moment - with Maestro Juan Tamariz & Consuelo Lorgia in FISM Busan 2018.

I would also recommend looking at my post FAQ here: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......rum=41&0 Remember also that to a large extent the "WOW" is in the performance not in the trick. Even a good trick can be made dull. One of the books you could "stay away from" is "Harry Lorayne's Apocalypse" which has a ton of tricks which are also well explained....however see the FAQ post first! |
