Aces, you don't need a reason to post this classic.
You just reminded me of one of the favorite movies of my youth, in fact one of the best ever. I saw it in the Bellaire Theater in Queens Village, NYC in the early fifties. But I think the musical version you posted is Frankie Laine's version. I think Tex Ritter did the original sound track for the movie. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTZ8MEi2yCo Might be wrong here, but this is how I remember it. Gary Cooper rocked in this movie. And Grace Kelly. Yikes. The stars in this movie! But let's not forget the lessers, one of whom was Lee Van Cleef, who played many a good bad guy in his day. Thanks for posting the memories here Aces!
What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about?
My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums. |

Sounds as though you enjoyed it as much as I did. Long time ago. Saw it with my mom and dad.
Was a big deal going to the movies back then. My God you should have seen the theatre lobby irt haad to be 60 ft long. Ticket Booth outside. Had a downstairs which was huge. Huge men's and woman's restrooms. Benches for sitting down all very plush. After entering the lobby you went into where they sold the candy. Between the entrance lobby, candy counter and ticket booth it was probably larger than most of the what they call cinemas now. When you walked in the lobby it was on a slight upgrade with movie posters of the current movie and that of coming attractions. Cripes I am really getting old. The theatre was extremely ornate and very art deco. It has been taken care of and pretty well restored and is now called the "FM Kirby for the Performing Arts" in Wilkes Barre Pa. Now it has live performances. Here are some pics: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http......uRTWM%3A The third picture in the first row is the lower level lounge. you can see the stairs leading upstairs, probably can walk 4 abreast on the stairs. It was at one time the Comerford Movie Theater.

7 Faces of Dr.Lao With Tony Randal.
I liked the movie much better than the Short Story which was much darker. Ray Bradbury wrote the original Story. No song but a very Magical Movie. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1KJOjKvg3M The trailer does not do it justice. -Mary Mowder |

Yes, Tex Ritter sang the theme for High Noon. Frankie Laine later made the record

Frankie Lane had a fabulous voice, he made some great recordings.
By failing to prepare, we are preparing to fail.
