Hey All,
Just wanted to give a quick introduction of myself after returning to magic and escapology after a 15 year "break." Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, like many, I discovered magic at an early age of 10. For me it was those early 1990's David Copperfield TV specials and library books on Houdini that hooked me and started my journey. I began with a few books on card and coin magic from the school library and your basic magic kits (linking rings, ropes and Siberian Chain etc.) in which I would do shows for the local neighborhood kids and families. I recall my first 'real' escape was from a chained up, locked, metal wire dog crate. I wish I had that piece of work on video. LOL! I kept at learning magic as a hobby all through my teen years and fell into close up, street magic and party tricks for a bit, until I fell out of it all together once I had a career job and started working full time. So now here I am...at 33, married with a child of my own, wanting to give performing a more deserving shot. I recently came across my old trunk of childhood tricks and rediscoved magic once again. This time around I'm looking to focus on escapology as this is where my true interest always was. I've been stocking my personal library (with help from a few members here!), reading and learning as much as I possibly can. I've even built up asmall collection of restraints over the past few months with the hopes to putting a short act together and getting back out there and performing once again. I'll be spending most of my time in the 'All Tied Up' section of the Café but I'm sure I'll be lurking around to see what else is new! Looking forward to this second journey and I'll see you all around! -SD |

Welcome Sean Dorian,
I"ll read your posts if you ever get out of the "All Tied Up" forum (sounds easy for an escapologist). I'm glad Magic has come back into your life. Just remember the safety issues involved in having escape stuff around little kids. -Mary Mowder |
