It kinda makes me jealous that English accent in Phoenix really sells. I have a Philly accent in Philly, and I'm not very special at all.

I must say the English accent does help a great deal in America. I often get booked by new clients who admit that they booked me just because they like the way I talk!! JR

I have been getting a number of private message and emails from people asking me individual questions about subjects that were talked about when I was guest of honour. This is an open forum, and it is my belief that you can ask me anything openly, and I will do my best to answer your question. We are a family here of magicians helping magicians, so it makes no sense to me to try and answer your individual questions, when only you will get the answer. It is not what forums are about. Besides, in all honesty, I really don't have the time. Other members could well be interested in your questions and my responses. I am aware that some forums have secret rooms, but I am not a fan of these. To summarize, I am happy to answer any questions you may have openly, but not in a pm. I hope this makes sense! Jolly Good! Roger,
I'm evaluating your Ridiculous Ravioli routine that is shown on your web site, but I already own a very high end 9 bottle multiplying routine that is fairly kid friendly. How many cans are produced during the supplied routine if you take full advantage of its capabilities, and which items that you produce from the cans in the demo are actually provided with the routine? In other words, what will need to be purchased separately to take full advantage of your routine? Does producing items from the cans in any way alter the complexity of how the routine is executed? My bottles come nested in 3 sets of 3. How are your cans configured? For instance, would one need to also buy Ridiculous Rattlesnakes from your web site to achieve that 2nd snake production as shown in your demo video? And on an unrelated note, do you sell the large magic wands that are filled with spring snakes that's I've seen on some of your demo footage, or is that David Ginn's product which I know was discontinued around 15 years ago? - Gary |

It is a constant work in progress. What I supply are two Black covers, two Ravioli shell inserts painted black inside enabling you to show the covers empty, a jar of peanut butter with 3 54 inch spring snakes inside.....beautifully made from parachute material, a furry mouse, a marmalade jar painted orange on the inside, a DVD and full written instructions. The extra cans you can buy at the supermarket, and all the sizes etc. are explained in the instructions. What else you add to the routine is up to your creativity and imagination. The wands you see in the video are available from my friend Barry Mitchell. I hope this answers your questions. Here is a video of me doing RR at a daycare center, incase any of you missed it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pla......IdaXfoO8 JR |

Thanks for the additional info. I assume that your DVD explains how to prep all the cans you buy for use in the routine? I believe I counted 17 cans produced during your act!
How do I contact Barry Mitchell? I don't know this person. - Gary |

When I stop to think about the transplanted successful magicians from across the pond who are doing better than me it just makes me want to learn to fake a British accent. My wife wants me to take her to see Shoot Ogawa, and his English is terrible. I guess I'm just missing something. LOL

Hey,
If the new Superman can fake an American accent, then I think there's hope that Al can fake a British one. Gerry |

Roger,
Thanks for the info on Barry Mitchell. I ordered the can-o-wands today from his site. By the way, I also fully intend to buy the Ridiculous Rattlesnakes from your site once I decide what else I'll be getting with it. I'm still contemplating Ridiculous Ravioli and your Icing on the Cake DVD. Do you ever waive shipping cost based on volume purchased? Gary |

Ouch! ... "Mid-August" - That's Ridiculous!! Uh, I mean Ridiculous Ravioli. just kidding with ya
I guess your orders multiplied faster than the cans! Anyway, if I back-order the ravioli along with several other items, I'll be sure to purchase some pasta on the side from you so that you consider waiving my shipping. |

I own Roger's Ridiculous Ravioli and the props are excellent. He wisely advises that you use his routine (on a DVD, included) as a starting point, for inspiration, and develop your own routine based on your own personality.
I do have one question, JR: Do you eat all the ravioli yourself in order to get all those empty cans? I suspect that is the reason for the back order -- your appetite has been down lately. P.S. to Al: I suspect that Jolly Roger himself is a fraud, and he is really Irving Finklestein from the Bronx. |
