So, I'm thinking for Anniversary Waltz, you'd place a small, elegant cloth on the table and place the block of ice with the their card inside on the cloth. You then hand the Bride ( or Lady if it's an Anniversary ) a small "Toffee Hammer" and let her break the ice with the hammer: This type of hammer: http://www.canstockphoto.com/hard-sweet-0125183.html Depending how over the top you'd want to get for a wedding ( because they do pay well ) you could have the hammer engraved: "6/12/2014 Queen of Hearts and Jack Of Clubs Forever" or something like that. If it was an Anniversary in a restaurant, the hammer could still be used, just not given away ( although I've known Magicians that were hired to perform for an anniversary celebration at a restaurant, so.......) I took my first one out of the freezer the other day. It was PERFECT. Made a few more and all had the same results. The stainless steel device will last a lifetime.
I have a little something going on tonight so I've been practicing in full attire. The playing card goes inside the the ice block so easy. You can "practice" with an ice block for hours. That's how stable it is. The DVD covers everything. You get two live performances and then several segments on how to use the gimmick ( you must be able to turn the water tap on;-) Kieron's personal routine and tips and ideas for other effects ( confabulation, mentalism, etc. ). And..he ships FAST to Americas! http://mightymagicproductions.com/re-maxed-iceolation/ This would have been the trick everyone would have remembered if it had been done on Letterman's magic week. I'll write more after tonight's performance. |

This is indeed a showstopping effect that works on many levels. It defies logic and hits hard. I love it!!!

Jordan, I checked out your group buy page. First of all, I live in America -- is that a problem for the group buy? Secondly, I am thoroughly confused about what I would be getting, and how the group buy price compares to the regular price. I checked Kieron's site but that didn't help much.

My girl requested I do something for friends of hers that were celebrating their anniversary ( not a professional paid gig ). I love the anniversary waltz plot, developed first by Wes James, then Christopher Carter ( who was first to publish the use of a DB ) and Doc Eason. It's my favorite for couples.
With Iceolation, I did a "Like two lives becoming one, your love is frozen in time" patter ( don't beat me up.... too badly;-) All anyone wanted to talk about was how the card got in the block of ice, how could I have a block of ice, etc. For the group, It actually eclipsed the 2 cards fusing. Our friends were all giddy about their cards and kept trying to peel them as if they were stuck together, everyone else was shocked about the card frozen inside the block of ice. This is the big one. This is the trick that gets people talking. If this was done on TV, the forums would ignite with chatter about it. And unless they had the smarts and money to go through trial and error creating a stainless steel prop to duplicate it, all they would ask for years is "when will this be released?" ( like they did with the signed card in a sealed pack ). I think it's important to let the break the ice. If it's a man, he can take the block in his hands and snap it in two. If you worked a posh gig, do it over a plate and then let the ice chunks slowly melt in the plate. They'll play with the ice long after your gone. http://mightymagicproductions.com/re-maxed-iceolation The ice block keeps for hours. I have several made up in the freezer. |

"If this was done on TV, the forums would ignite with chatter about it." Yes, and I hope that never happens -- being done on TV, I mean. When a magician performs a marketed or classic item on TV, the secret is in jeopardy of being exposed to the general public.
Glad for your success at the anniversary, Zombie! |

I've got 10 made up. Anytime there's something going on this holiday season, I'm using one.
Anyone try it with a prediction? "Last week I wrote something down and sealed it in ice, so it couldn't be touched until tonight" sort of thing. |

I think Iceolation would be perfect for The Birthday card trick ( people celebrating at a restaurant/pub would have a memento and experience they would never forget ).
Also, Darwin's The Dream Card. Darwin uses a wallet, but having their Dream Card frozen in a block of ice ( that they break open ) would make an incredible revelation. |

Is there a way for you to leave the block of ice with their card inside with them? Meaning can you just walk away leaving the block of ice for them to play with & slowly melt? That would be the epitome of impossibility.

Part of the fun of Iceolation is having them break open the ice and remove the signed object ( card, bill, etc. ).

Yes fun to break the ice, but method will seem obvious to how the card got into the ice block. Producing the ice in the first place is amazing though.

They smash the ice and remove the card, which is wet from the condensation. This is not an "obvious" method. Sawing a lady in half on stage seems obvious. It's been exposed ad nauseam, yet it's still performed around the world. Same goes for the linking rings and many other classics. |
