I live in Spain, what I do is I have a little cooler bag with some of those frozen blue ice packs in it along with my prepared ice blocks. In my close up case I have made a section to hold one block of ice, Ihave lined the inside of this with pieces cut out rom a supermarket cooler bag.
I leave all the blocks in the transporting bag and just take one block and place it in my close up case when I am about to perform it, I have had the blocks in the transporting cooler bag with the freezer packs in last for 5 hourslike this.

Thank you george1953, Kieron and sgtgrey for your responses. I just purchased this because it is rare to see so many rave reviews and virtually no complaints. I will certainly add a review once I have had the opportunity to use it in my performance. Much obliged.

I received Iceolation, and while I have not yet performed the effect for the public, I will share my initial sentiments. The craftsmanship is exceptional, and I will be able to give this to my children should they decided to follow in my footsteps. More often than not I purchase an effect and lament, "nice idea, but why wouldn't the producer simply charge more and make it higher quality". When your iceolation arrives you can immediately see and feel the quality. The video illustrates step-by-step how to do everything from making the ice to performing an amazing routine. In short all the logistics have been worked out so that it is a smooth experience to go from your faucet to a block of ice in your pocket - ready to be easily loaded. Kieron has a charmingly quirky personality, and his passion for the effect shows how much he put into its design. As far as I'm concerned this an investment in my act that has a multitude of possibilities ranging from an ambitious card killer closer to a mentalism finale where the prediction is frozen in ice. I'm confident that this will create an unparalleled wow factor from the audience. I'll be happy to share how it plays in my upcoming strolling engagements. Grade thus far A+.

This evening I had the opportunity to perform signed card to ice block. I performed it for four tables of my regulars. I didn't need to routine anything because I simply replaced my wallet (card-to-wallet type) in my front left pocket with iceolation and did routines in which Im already well-versed.
Any professional worker knows the "wow" effect of a good signed card to wallet routine. Given that a card-to-wallet is a killer ending, it pales in comparison to pulling a block of ice out of your pocket with their signed card frozen inside. Two regulars from different tables independently exclaimed "OMG, it doesn't get better than that!". At another table, a woman said, after smashing the ice to retrieve her card, "I am honored that you performed for us", as the group broke out in applause. I have performed for many years across the country including Vegas; so I have seen a lot of great magic and reactions to magic (not only to my own but to other magicians as well). The reactions I received this evening are among the best for any effect. If you have a great signed card through window effect, you can expect that level of reaction. The difference is the logistics of this are far more accommodating than those associated with card through window. Without doubt this is a fine gem that I will use for the rest of my performing career. Some may balk at making the investment, but as far as I'm concerned the first block of ice cost me $150, the rest are free for life. A tip that may be useful to other magicians who perform this is that I use my business card as guide to make the load like I am accustomed to doing with my card-to-wallet. I just put a small bend or arch in my business card. I tell them I want to give them my business card, which is then shown to be frozen in the ice on top of the signed card. I expect it will be years before I see another effect with this wow-factor level. Final grade: Construction A+; Effect on audience A+. |

This is an effect that I didn't really pay much attention to when it was first released, but now after all this hype, and it getting a lot of votes on the trick of the year thread, I think this will have to be my first purchase of 2014!

Would have been nice if it were possible to combine this with the original to the max effect so you can produce the ice and have the object inside. I wonder if for me personally it wouldn't be better to simply get the original to the max, pre-load it and f**ce the object. Either way glad to hear positive reviews on this, seems like a lot of work and thought has gone into it

I don't want to belabor the point, but last night I performed for one of my corporate clients who over the years have hired me many times to do their winter ball. They said the frozen card was the best they've ever seen. I did it for two different groups and there were a few people who saw it a second time and asked "can I FEEL the ice please?" When they felt the cold they said "OMG, it's REAL ICE!" So a tip I learned is to hold the block and let many people feel it BEFORE cracking it open. The banquet manager was watching as well and asked for my business card which was frozen with the signed card in the block. No hyperbole - I think this is the trick of the decade.

I always get the specs to hold out their cupped hands and drop the ice into their hands before taking it and placing it on the table. Because I finish by having them smash the ice open with a toffee hammer, the ice is broken into many pieces therefore destroying the evidence, I can now leave all the pieces on the table and let the specs pick up the pieces of ice and have a good look at them.

Performed this again this weekend...the "problem" I have with this, is that the reactions are so strong...it's made be re evaluate my whole act ..does the rest of my act live up to this...I've had a rethink of my whole act...which is maybe not a bad thing!! Thanks mighty k!

David abel - I know what you mean in the sense that other gems in your act are somewhat eclipsed by the power of this effect. I have a restaurant gig that I've performed at for over a decade. The bartender has seen everything I do. I did signed card to block of ice and he could not stop talking about it. I asked him to compare it to some of his other favorites through the years. He said, "come on Frankie, my card in a block of ice, mind blowing!". I just went onto best trick of 2013 thread and voted for it - We should definitely support Kieron on this, because his effect has added so much to our repertoire. Here is the thread:

I can't wait to buy this.
Quick question - can you make up a lot of ice gimmicks, ready to take out with you? |
