G'day over the years people have come to me with one main question in regard to G-cuffs.
They ask " are they fully examinable?"

I was wondering if most of the readers would word the question that way and if so, what is meant by "Fully"

I have a car that is drivable, but I wouldn't referr to it as "fully driveable"

It's a magician thing Ian.

I think it's something that magic dealers use in their blurb and its become part of everyday magical vocabulary as a way of saying a spectator can examine something to their hearts content and there's zero risk of them finding anything.

Personally if an item has been gaffed then I believe there's a risk of a spec finding it. Which is where the performer's audience management skills come in to play.

Oddly, no one has ever asked if they can examine my cuffs. They have asked about ropes, chains, locks, thumbcuffs, but never asked about handcuffs. Either I invite a spectator to pull or I don't. Often I will lock the first cuff on my left wrist (the way I want it)and then offer them to cuff my right. Thanks to the crafty nature of ADA's, having one cuff in thier hand never causes me any problem. I don't know why people don't ask to see the cuffs, but they don't.

My interpretation is that of Roslyns. When I envision an item to be "fully examinable", it is able to be handed to an inquiring spectator so they can check it out themselves. In the case of cuffs, I think fully examinaing them could possibly included working the cuff and have them locked in and try to escape themselves.

Granted, I'm just getting (back) into this whole escape thing myself so I'm guilty of using loose terms like "fully examinable". Smile
