In my on going effort to monopolize the Food For Thought board and my continuing display of how much time I have on my hands…
What do you consider the best teaching techniques in magic? What performers do you consider good teachers?

This is an old post that I found with no replies. Thought I'd add one!
The best teachers in magic are the ones that don't give you everything, but give you just enough to think for yourself. Many magicians find this annoying. They call it incomplete thoughts and such. Like Andrew Mayne. I find his ideas and philosphies engaging. He gives enough but then allows for your own creativity to set in. I also like David Copperfield. No I haven't had any discussions with him (I only met him once for about 10 mins). I consider him a teacher just by the fact that I learn tons from watching him. |
