On the subject of Stephen King, I think if they ever make a movie about my favorite book of his "The Long Walk" I would love to see it.

The Long Walk is also my favorite work of King's. Because of the subject matter (no spoiler), I don't think it will ever be a movie, especially nowadays. Which is really too bad.

I would love to see King's 11-22-63 made into a movie. It was the best work of fiction I read last year.

That said, I really don't know how it is possible to respond accurately to these "What is your favorite____________" threads. I have LOTS of favorites in any given genre of music, writing, film, television etc.

If I had only one favorite book, for example, you's probably be right in concluding that I didn't read that much. Or if I had only one favorite movie, that I haven't seen all that many.

I've read about a bazillion (with a B) books (conservative estimate), and my hands-down favorite is John Irving's "A Prayer for Owen Meany." When you put on the critic's hat, you've got to male those tough calls.

Yes, Lobo, and I thank you for recommending that book to me a year or so ago. It certainly would be near the top of my list of favorites, as would be the works of Borges, Robert Anton Wilson, Thomas Pynchon's "The Crying of Lot 49," and dozens of others.

My point is that I like different works for different reasons. And what my favorite is at any particular moment depends on my mood and where my head is at.

Agree. Perhaps I should have asked what's favorite movie of the moment...

Don't know if its my favourite, but Donnie Darko is high on the list.

Speaking of movies featuring large rabbits I like Harvey an awful lot, Jimmy Stewart was Brilliant and the acting from the rest of the supporting cast was great as well the story line was one that shouldn't work but does! I even like the remake that Harry Anderson and Leslie Neilson did, Not quite as good as the original but none the less still enjoyable!

Great call...it's on my short list. I think it qualifies as a sic-fi movie, and to the extent that it does, it's right up there with Blade Runner for me.
