"Butt Kicking" is an American expression that means "Get out of your seat and Dance" music. Surely you recognize the music of Frank Turner who is a butt kicking English singer.

Front Bottoms reminds me of those guys in the dorm back in the 1980's who put together a band for fun and had some pretty clever - or at least offbeat - stream of consciousness songs that were occasionally played by a student DJ on the college radio station. Takes me back, and I like it.
Now appearing nightly in my basement.

Motown
I saw the MC5 live back in 1968. They not only played butt kicking music, but they could clear an auditorium in about a half hour. The MC5 was truly a painful experience that had my ears ringing for a couple days after I walked out of their terrible, terrible concert. I have not seen the MC5 in 45 years but I will never forget them because that was the worst concert of my life. PS- They kept talking about this John dude who was in jail for something.
