I haven't had time to check this out but if this is true, how long before we see them here in the U.S. and what is the purpose?
If true, don't you think Government is going too far and when is the general population going to wake up and start to question the motives of Government. I don't believe that this is in the best interest of the public.

Infowars is run by Alex Jones, the whacked out conspiracy theorist. It has nothing whatsoever to do with reality.

Quote:
Alexander Emerick "Alex" Jones (born February 11, 1974) is an American radio host, author, conspiracy theorist[1][2] and documentary filmmaker.[3] His syndicated news/talk show The Alex Jones Show, based in Austin, Texas, airs via the Genesis Communication Network on over 70 AM, FM, and shortwave radio stations across the United States and on the Internet.[4] His websites include Infowars.com and PrisonPlanet.com.[5][6] As of January 2012, his YouTube channel, InfoWars, had received over 250 million views.

Jones has been the center of many controversies, including his statements about gun control in the wake of Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.[7] He has accused the U.S. government of being involved in the Oklahoma City bombing,[8] the September 11 attacks,[9] and the filming of fake Moon landings to hide NASA's secret technology[10] and the killing of "thousands of astronauts".[11] Rolling Stone covers his belief that government and big business have colluded to create a New World Order through "manufactured economic crises, sophisticated surveillance tech and—above all—inside-job terror attacks that fuel exploitable hysteria".[12] Jones describes himself as a libertarian and a conservative, and while critics have called him "right-wing", Jones himself rejects the label.

Although I agree that Alex Jones is a whacked out conspiracy theorist, this technology is real -- and actually, somewhat old. One of my patent clients is in the business of this kind of stuff. For example, you know how you go into the grocery store, swipe your loyalty card, buy some stuff, and then get a coupon for other stuff?

In the very old days, the coupon you got was based on a very simple algorithm: if you bought product X, you get served a coupon for product Y. (Maybe Y competes with X, or maybe Y is complementary to X... like you buy peanut butter and get a coupon for jelly.)

Then in the more recent past, the algorithms were a little more sophisticated based on more than just a single item, but still kind of ad hoc.

A recent development is that your whole shopping behavior can be modeled. So that lets stores to interesting things. For example, you walk in to the store, and BEFORE you buy anything you scan your card, like at the door. Based on your shopping history, the algorithm knows you're low on eggs, so it serves you a coupon for eggs.

Or maybe it knows you're about to go to the store (based on a GPS signal), and serves you a coupon for eggs at a competitors' store.

It all sounds kind of spooky. But: (a) you opt in to these programs, you can opt out; and (b) why WOULDN'T you want a coupon for eggs if you're low on eggs? I guess it's also run by a private company, not the government. But if someone wanted to do malicious stuff, I think a private company is a little scarier.

What! How can it be real if nothing whatsoever to do with reality Alex Jones said it?

Is it anything to with the United Nations Conference on Environment & Development Rio de Janerio, Brazil, 3 to 14 June 1992 AGENDA 21, which is the action plan implemented worldwide to inventory and control all land, all water, all minerals, all plants, all animals, all construction, all means of production, all energy, all education, all information, and all human beings in the world. That is an action agenda for the UN, other multilateral organizations, and individual governments around the world that can be executed at local, national, and global levels. It has been affirmed and modified at subsequent UN conferences. Which does not exist?

Yes, the Agenda 21 conspiracy, which has been widely debunked even more than the supposedly faked moon landing, is also a favorite of Alex Jones. Most, but not all, conspiracy theories contain a small grain of truth which the Alex Joneses of the world simply distort and inflate to support their ludicrous conclusions.

Agenda 21 is not a treaty and has no effect on US law or property ownership. It is simply a non-binding UN resolution and agreement or compliance is completely voluntary. But that hasn't stopped the conspiracy theorists who lump it in with the sinister UN "plot" to disarm Americans.

Read the following carefully:

Quote:
Agenda 21 is a set of hopeful guidelines for environmental action and social justice established by the United Nations in 1992 at a conference in Rio de Janerio, Brazil.[1] It sets out a variety of goals for public policy at all levels and for civic action by non-governmental organizations. These include fair trade practices, sustainable energy and urban development, and debt reduction for the developing world. Like most such sets of guidelines, it was happily agreed upon and happily ignored for many years. Agenda 21 was frequently cited by conspiracy theorists, such as the John Birch Society, during the 1990s as a purported blueprint for implementing the New World Order and population control, then forgotten by them too.

In 2012, however, an expose by former Fox News host Glenn Beck seized upon Agenda 21 as an attempt by radical Nazi communist internationalist homosexuals to "put their fangs into our communities and suck all the blood out of it, we will not be able to survive."[2] This began an onslaught of paranoia that has continued ever since, with even such high-level American institutions as the Republican National Committee (RNC), the governing body of one of the two major American parties, officially condemning Agenda 21 as "a comprehensive plan of extreme environmentalism, social engineering, and global political control."[3] The general consensus among a certain segment of the American conservative movement seems to be that socialists and tree-huggers are using Agenda 21 as a template for an insidious contamination of all levels of society.

The flaw with any vigorous opposition to Agenda 21 is that "the U.S. government and no state or local government is legally bound by the United Nations Agenda 21 treaty", as the RNC accurately asserts in their resolution.[3] Accordingly, it makes no sense to demand that it be repudiated: you can argue with it on the merits of what it recommends, but it's silly to savage a set of recommendations for merely daring to exist. It's tantamount to mounting a bombastic attack on the Food and Leisure section of your local paper just because you disagreed with a food critic's opinion of a restaurant: you might want a different columnist or different recommendations or even a different section editor, but attacking the section for its audacity in existing makes you seem like a raving lunatic.

U.S. support

The United States is a signatory country to Agenda 21, but because Agenda 21 is not a treaty, the Senate was unable to hold a formal debate or vote on it. It is therefore not considered to be law under Article VI of the U.S. Constitution. Several congressmen and senators, however, have spoken in Congress in support of Agenda 21;[citation needed] these include Representative Nancy Pelosi, Senator John Kerry, and Senator Harry Reid.[13]

In the United States, over 528 cities are members of ICLEI, an international sustainability organization that helps to implement the Agenda 21 and Local Agenda 21 concepts across the world. The United States has nearly half of the ICLEI's global membership of 1,200 cities promoting sustainable development at a local level.[14] The United States also has one of the most comprehensively documented Agenda 21 status reports.[15]

Yes. Rosa Koire is an Alex Jones and Glenn Beck favorite and has many followers on the far fringes of conspiracy theory.

Everyone else basically ignores her.

I agree that Alex Jones is a bit "whacked" out but there is much truth in what he and other's like him have to say.

If it wasn't for shows like coasttocoastam.com and infowars.com we would not know about things like HAARP, The Bilderberg Group or how President Obama signed in the NDAA at midnight with the language of indefinite detention of American citizen's intact (something he promised not to sign until that language was removed).

It's too bad that so many of us are willing to just ignore the whacko's even though there is much information to gleen from their rantings if one takes the time to listen and check things out for themselves.

The problem is, there's so much mis- or dis-information in Alex Jones's stuff that it isn't worth taking the time to separate the wheat from the chaff.

What is it that you learned about HAARP or the Bilderberg Group from coasttocoast and infowars? The information I've seen on those sites presents nothing but debunked conspiracy theories. (Yes, I DO check sites like this frequently as I've always been fascinated by the strange mental machinations of conspiracy theorists.)

All I really learned was their very exsistence. It was at least 8 years after hearing about HAARP that the "mainstream" media even mentioned it. The media today very seldom mentions the Bildergerg group and when they do, all they mention is the fact that they are having a meeting with lots of security (public and private) to keep the media at distance.

I don't belive everything I hear but when the media or Government deny or make things up, it makes me wonder what is it they are hiding. Even today with the freedom of information act in place, anyone asking about any U.F.O. information will recieve a document that is so blocked out that it is impossible to make any sense of it.
The Government has changed their story so many times on the subject of the 1947 Roswell crash site, that nobody has a clue to what it was that crashed. It was a weather balloon, It was a satellite (in 1947?). It was CNN a few years ago that said the Government now says a satellite crashed at Roswell but due to National Security this information had to be withheld. Now the Government seems to be sticking to the weather balloon and test dummies story.

All I am saying is how can we believe anything the Government say's? How many times must the Government be caught in a lie before they lose their credibility? I question EVERYONE, especially the Government.

To answer your question Bob, I know nothing or "learned" anything about HAARP or The Bilderberg Group. Too much secrecy.
If it wasn't for the "Whacko" shows, I would know even less and I would not be able to inquire about these things.

Look up HAARP and the Bilderberg Group on Wikiepedia. The facts are very public. Do you know, for example, that MANY universities openly contribute to the research at HAARP and know full well the scientific nature of experiments being done there? There's nothing sinister about it.
