What do you use to create the white part of the eyes? Is there a white sharpie marker?

A white paint marker that is opaque, quick-drying, and readily available seems to be the Holy Grail of balloon twisters.
I don't know of any that I am fully satisfied with.

I’ll second Curt’s emotion. With that said, I generally stick with Tree House Studio from Hobby Lobby or Montana from Michael’s.

Michael's used to sell the line of Deco Color paint pens. The white was the only color that didn't seem to pop the balloons. It has a great consistency and works really well. They stopped selling it in favor of Sharpies white paint pen which is watery and doesn't cover well. You can still get the Deco Color pen online you just have to buy a box of them. If you use any of the paint pens the most important thing to know is to follow these steps:
1 Shake for a long time before first use or if you haven't used it in a long time 2 Before you prime the pen hold it writing tip UP, press it in and hold it allowing any air that has built up inside of it to escape 3 Prime the pen until the tip has paint flowing. If you don't do this you can have problems with the static electricity from the balloon acting as a conduit and making the paint (under pressure) jump from the tip to the balloon. Sounds strange but its happened several times, ruining a cool face. You don't have to worry about this with the Galaxy Marker, or the waxy type mean streak markers, but you also won't get the nice bright solid white of the deco color... If I'm working a gig and I forget the white marker, or it runs out or lose it, I feel like I'm ripping people off. Regards, Ed imaginationoverdrive.com Balloon Animal University |

If you need fear to enforce your beliefs, then your beliefs are worthless.
