We released the image for the DVD production today, while we are already prepacking the props that come with the effect.
A realistic release date will be around end of September, we will announce it here as well as by a newsletter as soon as we see clearer.

I like this effect a lot, nice presentation, nice touch… I have a question though: what is the difference between this effect and a classical equivoque accompanied by a s****h if necessary? I mean what is the advantage of this marketed method?

Just listen again to the equivoque and answer your question yourself. Maybe you get it?
An equivoque that ends in a s****h is not an equivoque, is it?

His presentation always sounds identical, no matter what the spectators decide. Could it be an equivoque?

That multiple out could require a switch, but it certainly doesn't have to. This presentation reminds me of David Regal's Hotel, although that one uses four equivoques, but the wording is similar. I can see some of what is going on in the final phase, but not to the point where I can reconstruct it. In the end, it's the complete picture that matters, and I happen to really like that. Any word on reset? |

I will stick with what I already use |

Just to give you some brainwork: we include a version where you do NOT palm any card and can show your hands empty.

I like it too, presentation (equivoque) and method (matchbox) go very well together...

We (System 6 Magic) are honored to be apart of this project. I have to say the effect is fantastic, and something I can see using all the time. Packs flat and plays big. The card being burnt, the whole lighting and blowing out the matches make it a small piece of theater in your pocket.
It definitely earned our endorsement and we couldn't have been happier to be apart of it. BTW,Larry Becker is credited, of course! -Michael |

This could work with the Regal box quite easily. You set the box out from the very beginning and explain that you are going to be burning some imagenary cards and you might need this in case of an emergency. You then procede with the script from inferno. Instead of matches you bring out of you're pocket a lighter and have them burn the cards with that. When the final card is named the lighter is put back in you're pocket. At that point you grab what you need to use the Regal box s*****. The rest is just theatrics and reveal the card.

With Inferno no index is needed. The plot would work perfectly and makes sense with the lighter , no awkward moves and is totally motivated. I don't see the Inferno equivoque as a step backwards just a different method to use. I do realise that using the Regal box could be an awkward prop and maybe to much to carry around. But in the right setting it would work great. The Special Delivery envelope by Regal also works great for s*******g cards. And also could be used with this. What I like about Inferno is the burning of the imaginary cards to get to the chosen card. A very deceptive and theatrical form of equivoque. That's not to say that Joshua's matchbook method isn't perfect the way it is. Just thinking aloud.

I wouldn't call what you have to do "palming" exactly... That sounds hard and complicated. What's going on here is much simpler than that...

Jesus ****ing Christ! What happened to NOT REVEAL ANY SECRETS on this forum, more and more people are trying to guess methods and then (even if they are wrong) post the methods on the forum. Do you guys even give a **** about this art anymore?
Here is all you need to know: Joshua Jay is a WORKER! Joshua Jay has proven, solid, practical methods for everything he does! Joshua Jay's material is some of the strongest close-up magic you can perform for ANYONE in the entire world! Inferno, is a BEAST of a worker and it is what dream tricks are made of! AND WE as a BROTHERHOOD and community have no idea how incredibly fortunate we are to have Joshua Jay as our teacher, friend, and brother. If you want to know exactly how it is done, then buy it when it comes out. But stop revealing ****, stop trying to stroke your own egos by being "right" in front of your peers. Try (and I know this is the biggest trick of them all for MOST of you) to tap into the "innocent" child you USED to be in touch with and enjoy what you just saw, try and be those girls, and how they felt when he just walked away. Try and NOT be an egocentric, narcissistic, prideful, "I know all the answers"..magician. The fuel, the life blood of this art is astonishment, but NOT just for them but for us as well. learn how to tap into that astonishment every single time, whether you are watching magic or performing it.
