I ran across three of these just last weekend. Have you ever seen one? Or maybe even have stewardship of one? Apparently they started here in WI just a few years ago, but looking at the map in the third link below it seems to have spread far and wide.

We had a few in surrouding neighborhoods when we were back in Madison Wisconsin. We've been thinking about building one in park that is two houses down from us now in Colorado, but we're in a development that has a Homeowners Association (as most in the area do) and haven't gone to them yet.

But they are really cool!

Cool, I hope you get a chance to do it. Greetings from Badgerland!

I saw one when I was at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh a few years ago...a shelf in the back of a Café on the high street. It's a very cool idea!

What about 'one big library'? http://www.bookcrossing.com/

There is a great littl library just about 1K from here (on holiday in Feock near Truro) in an old red telephone box ....GREAT! But rather funnily had 3 copies of Jeremy Clearksons last book in it!

Yep, I have been familiar with this one for a while. Another cool idea. It's on;y recently that I started noticing the little ones.

We had one in our building until the "service coordinator" locked all the books in a closet. They had been here for years before she arrived.
She put up a notice that he had to do it because there was no way for her to control them.
