"There's nothing new under the sun"
It seems that my new effect "imagine" is not as new as I thought. Thank you to Scott Guinn, Tom Cutts, Cody Fisher, John Lovick and everyone else who have suggested routines that sounded simular. I think The problem is tracking down the original credit for this type of effect. The original concept could possibly be decades old with quite a number of published and unpublished versions coming out of the underground in the 70's. Although I've never seen or read this effect before and I thought it to be original, it would be unfair to those that came before for me to market it at this time. I at least hope that I have turned some on to this old concept as I have had so much fun with playing with it. Thanks to all of your interest and Thanka again Jeff Pierce

I think that is both wise and classy, Jeff. Your routine is definitely very good, but probably not different enough to warrant marketing as a separate trick. However, that should in no way discourage you. You came up with it on your own... it's just that someone else had already come up with virtually the same thing. While that means you probably shouldn't market the effect, it in no way detracts from your clever thinking, nor should it dissuade you from performing it.
I have been unable to locate the manuscript for Blank Thought, which I got a number of years ago, but like Cody, that is the routine that jumped to mind when Jeff sent me a beta of Imagine. I just couldn't tell him definitely if the methods were identical from memory, but I know they were close and the effect is the same. So, while this must have been a very difficult and painful decision for Jeff, he did the right thing.

Scott and everyone,
I have spoken by email with Richard Raven the creator of "Blank Thought" and although methods and effect are simular, they are different enough in our minds for Richard to give his permission and credit info for Imagine. Therefor "Imagine" will be available again only thru my website and when the initial run is gone, I won't produce any more. Mr. Raven agreed that this is fair to both parties. So now you have two options for a great effect. "Imagine" available from me at: http://www.members.aol.com/jeffpiercemagic/magic.html or "Blank Thought" available from: http://www.ravenmagic.com Thanks Jeff Pierce
