You are correct. I had been watching several different videos when I posted. The video of Tommy Wonder was from 1977, just not FISM. Thanks for setting that straight.
This is the only video that I have seen of him that shows the cards and balls from "Wonder Material".

2 clips from FISM 1973 in Paris that I uploaded to YouTube 2 years ago. Ball routine was not the same as in clip you posted. I wish Tommy wrote more about it in his book especially production of 4th ball in each hand after showing 3 solid balls. It looks like he used Durania shells for it since he was able to show 4 solid balls but did Werry invented Durania before 1973 ???

Tommy Wonder did not actually use balls, and that may be the advantage to the color changes. I wonder (no pun intended) if anyone has made a set of the Wonder unique Billiard Ball ovals.
It is nice to find out that Tommy Wonder was constantly making little changes to his act over the years. To bad the only recorded process is in his lighter to matches and his Diminishing Cards tricks. On this last video, thanks to Bojan Barisic, it was more clear to see his string of cards to scarf. That really looked magical. Sad to think this mechanical genius creations are lost. But many performers wish not share what they consider their best trick creations and that is their right of course. |
