"Jesters" (Aldo Columbini) really packs a punch. It can be found on his "True Magic" DVD. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6N2IMupuVFg
Wild card can be fun and different depending on performance style. But I always have room for "Twisted Sisters", "Double Back" & "ACE". Although Double Back and Ace are similar they can be played out very differntly as one is a "Transposition" (DB) and one is a "Transformation" (ACE). But give Jesters a go. You'll love it. |

My favorite ungaffed impromptu packet trick....Twister by Chris Kenner. 4 face down aces, turn face up one at a time, then chance to jacks one at a time, then change back to aces all at once. Basically it's Twisting the Aces plus Reset. Not difficult at all and always kills'em.
One I've seen, but don't do (I really want to learn this) is by Jamy Swiss. Starts as a printing effect, printing the 4 aces, then goes into Doc Daley's last trick. The cool thing is, even though you have gaffs in play, they walk away with the feeling they examined all the cards. Anyone know the name of this and where it is? |

Although, not a stand alone packet trick...as you utilize the deck of cards as well...but I really enjoy Aldo Colombini's "Paramount". In fact, I like the fact that you incorporate the deck into the effect. Just bringing out a packet trick alone always felt a little awkward to me.

Twisted sisters!!!!!!
How have you all skipped this one!? Just an amazing packet trick, with 3 "revelations". I just added NFW to may walk around, which was suggested on here (another good one). Did no one say twisting the aces?! 6 card repeat? stand up Monte?!?! 2 card monte?! |

I used to do a nice packet trick called "Roley Poley" from Terry LeGerould's Pasteboard Presentations

I just looked it up and the official spelling is Roly-Poly. Awesome book but rather hard to find and quite expensive when you do.

Instead of buying single gimmicked packet tricks, invest in "FOCUS" by Phil Goldstein. Lots of good impromptu material that deals with packets of cards removed from a deck."Masque" is worth the price of the book imho....
Cardamagically,,, Dom

I don't know the name of the effect, so someone may have mentioned it before. But the 10 card poker trick where the you play against a spectator. You always win, they shuffle, deal and can change the order of the deal and shuffle inbetween each card dealt. Most of you probably know it already but I was suprised it really does kill. Ricky Jay has a performance on youtube. But you do need a spectator who knows poker.

If you like challenging material, get hold of a copy of "Cardboard Chameleons" by Daryl. It isn't easy, but is one of the very best packets tricks ever invented IMHO.
Also, you can learn "Big Bullet Monte" from my website for free. This is a fun variation of Dr. Daley's Last Trick with an Old West presentation and a surprising kicker ending. Marty |
