I have also prepared my clients' quotes with a simple email. Recently, I have seen other performers that use a PDF attachment sent via email to provide quotes to clients. I am also considering this. The only problems I can see are (1) Being an attachment (PDF), some people may be afraid to click it. These would be requested quotations. Nothing being sent to random clients. (2) If people do not have Adobe Acrobat, I would need to provide a link to the free adobe reader. So... what are your opinions? How do you provide quotes?

Why not get creative and do something different like a custom video proposal? You will stand out amond all the other PDFs.

Many clients prefer pdf as they can share it. Many clients inquiring may be part of a committee or boards and need to share it with others. While an email can be forwarded it is much more convenient and professional to use pdf. The majority of clients in professional situations have pdf access.

Clients tend to appreciate pdf's of proposals, mainly for the reasons Mindpro listed. Also, its much more professional to send a proposal of the services you will provide to their event's needs prior to giving your price. It shows you know what they are looking for and gives them piece of mind instead of giving them numbers and assuming they know what they get + the benefits.
