True,
Magic.Maddy sent me a pm with his idea and I can confirm that his idea is pretty close to my 3rd principle, main difference is that his version works by "seeing", mine works by "feeling". So in my version I don't have to see anything inside the deck nor I have to turn the deck face up. I am sure it won't make any sense for people not familiar with it Best regards, Titanas

So, what's the bottom line. Is this a go. Titanic, Syndrome, or both.
"The New York Papers," Mark Twain once said,"have long known that no large question is ever really settled until I have been consulted; it is the way they feel about it, and they show it by always sending to me when they get uneasy. "

Upon studying the Syndrome Deck more, I see that the basic differences Docc mentions.
Both decks unique features. Although the decks may be used for similar routines. Best regards, Titanas

Titanas was certainly ahead of his time in his thinking with Titanic deck.
If you want some great routines that are applicable to The Syndrome Deck, I can reccomend the Titanic manuscript. Peace, Docc |

Thanks Titanas,
Politically and understandably you're veering towards the 'buy both' outcome. I wonder if anyone can bring themselves to say 'x is my favourite because...' If it's a split decision, so be it -- I'll get both. But I'll be p'd off if they're basically the same. Cheers, Steve |

Thanks Docc,
I know it sounds like I'm splitting hairs on this, but I'm just a hobbyist/trainee/amateur and as such can only justify a couple purchases per month to my missus! Best wishes, Steve |

Just purchased this and I must say it is very brillant! Especially the part where Docc explains how to recover from "mess". Now let s get to work new routines!

On the video Docc explained the particular setup and I could do it immediately, without any calculations. I got as good as I was going to get with the BCS, but I still had to "think" a few more beats than I was ever happy with. With Docc's, I know the card they take, instantly. For magic, it's so clean.
Docc also teaches how to do an "unwritten" Q & A. You know the question they have ( love, financial, etc. ) without them writing it down. You give a reading on a question only they know. And then you tell them their card. BAMF! You get the 25 minute MP4 video, 1 hour MP3 audio and the follow up call, which always has Docc tipping more of the real work. http://www.nanacast.com/syndrome-deck It's only $19 ( and will go up, not the other way around ). |

The price went from $19.00 to $37. It will go to $49, so you can still get a deal.
http://www.nanacast.com/syndrome-deck Even at full price it's still a good deal for what you get: 25 minute MP4 video ( many of us love books, but seeing Docc demo the workings makes it so easy ) 1 hour MP3 audio Doccinar LIVE conference call ( which is tonight ). |

One more plug for getting the Titanic Deck manuscript as a complement to Docc's great Syndrome Deck. With Docc's video and audio you get every mentalism use; with Titanic Deck's extensive pdf, you get a variety of card magic uses. Both have tips that are useful for the other. And fiddling with both will have you considering whether the deck should be constructed for face-down or face-up shuffles. I've gone back-and-forth on this, and eventually came back to Docc's way since I'm using this more for mentalism.

I am reviving an old thread. I really like the basic concept behind this (I own the Titanic deck and don't yet have the Syndrome deck). Actually, a couple years ago I came up with this idea independently and was very excited about it. I was planning to publish it but did not rush it. I am a physicist and frequently publish research papers. I know its never a good idea to rush into claiming you've discovered something new. After a few months I stumbled upon the Titanic Deck on Lybrary.com and realized Titanas had published the same idea over a decade ago. I suspected the Syndrome deck was based on the same concept when I came across it today. Docc Hilford mentioned that he came up with this in the nineties and also looking at his track record he definitely has a lot of good presentations for this. So it may be worth getting the Syndrome deck as well. Creators independently come up with the same ideas, it happens and it is fine. But I really wished creators did more research before publishing. There is another product now called Rompossible (I don't think the idea was discovered in the 90s) which is exactly the same as Titanic deck and Syndrome. I think the Rama deck from BBM also is the same thing but I need to go back and check to make sure. Its totally cool to publish new routines with the same basic concept, but selling a gimmicked deck with the claim that it is totally new is not fair. I found my idea was not new in just a few months, why can't others do the same? These are just my thoughts. I hope this is fair criticism. I am not trying to point fingers.
