The other stars of the show were the organizing team, camera work and Dan Harlan's hosting. At one point David was telling a story and needed a cig through quarter gimmick. David couldn't find his and Dan didn't miss a beat in running to the stage area and making an impromptu version so David could continue. The host is like the straight man in a comedy team: vitally important and barely noticed.
David has retained that child like enthusiasm about magic. As his level and station in life, gigs and lectures become almost a chore. Almost 4 hrs. into the lecture Dan gave David the opportunity to stop and David wanted to do one more ( Funner Color Stunner ). And then he explained it! Anone else have their eyes get as big as saucer plates when he did Johnny Brown's coin through glass? Even when he tipped the method it fooled me. |

Last year, Dani DaOrtiz lectured at Penguin while in town that weekend for the Columbus Magi Fest. This year, Tamariz and Weber will be both be in town for the Magi Fest. Why not.....anything can happen. I have to say, last night was one of the best four hours I have spent watching a magic lecture. I have seen Dave countless times in both performance and lecture. I have had the opprotunity to see him outside a convention setting performing for lay audiences and it is always educating. But sitting in the front row and to the side last night, you still can't see the pass even when he is teaching it. Absolutely amazing. The little tips, the convincers were worth the price alone. |

Also my first time of saying this - Best lecture yet (and I've been to a couple of his live lectures).
Great magic and very entertaining. Another great job of hosting by Dan Harlan. |

It's the best one I've bought and I'm not just saying that as a Dave fan... He handles situations better than ANYONE and shows what GOOD sleight of hand can accomplish.

I'm re-watching again. it's like watching Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin and Sam Kinison rolled into one.
Dave looks like he lost weight. Around 25-35 lbs. He looks younger. |

He did his
His opening sequence of think a card Chink-a-chink version, shows how it can be done in the spectator's hands, no shells, based off David Roth's version. His famous T&R A control His 2 cups, balls, with, a flurry of endings His rope and ring routine He goes over the top change His shot from the middle Color Stunner 4 card trick A multiple selection/gambling that utilizes bills and wine glasses for presentation A miser's dream handling A tenkai pennies handling Lots of stories For now that's what I can remember, it was the most entertaining lecture I've seen. |
