There are only a few remarkable people in each generation. After reading this interview (It's long!) of the Pope, I think he must be one of them.

I know this is very long, but I think even if you just skim it, you'll be struck by the quality of the man's character.

I agree with you one hundred percent. This Pope is truly a remarkable man.

I haven't read it entirely but will finish later tonight. I too agree he's an extraordinary individual and in the right place at the right time to move the Church into the 21st century.

My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums. |

I respectfully disagree. This pope is doctrinally unsound and tells people what they want to hear. That is why so many people like him. If he told the world what the bible really says he would be hated by the world, not loved and embraced as a "new and improved" progressive thinker. This man is a danger to people and to Christianity.
For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 2 Timothy 4:3

I'll admit, I'm a pro-life person, but a woman's choice is her choice and she must live with the decision. And while I believe that government should keep its nose out of marriage, I do believe that gays would not be shunned by God because of the way they were born and the way He created them. We are all God's children. Even atheists although they don't know it. I believe the new pope is a breath of fresh air. Just my opinion.

And now this. I guess I misread him completely on this.

And once again, Lunatik lives up to his name.

I'm a Presbyterian but have been exposed to Catholicism as my dad taught in a Catholic school for close to 20 years, and it's nice to see a Pope that's in touch with reality and can offer a point of view that is both religious and progressive. I was born and raised Catholic and practiced the faith for decades. This Pope has, to a large extent, restored my faith in the Church.

I'm a Presbyterian. Guess you missed that part. Not surprising though as you clearly miss a lot of things.

If you use the Bible to base your faith, then clearly you've missed a lot of things, I'm not surprised though
