Do you have any amusing, unusual, crazy incidents or out of the ordinary anecdotes that you experienced rubbing elbows with street audiences?

Saw a street act have to deal with somebody pulling out a gun during their performance. This was in New Orleans, The French Quarter, Jackson Square, the act was a juggling duo called Waldo and Woodhead. Waldo is talking doing his thing when a drunk guy walks up and pulls out a revolver from his waistband. He startes waving it around creating a general sense of unease. No one was sure what the guys deal was or if he might be part of the act. Waldo did the strangest thing, he sat down on the curb and left his body. He became vacant. It was about this time that two big New Orleans cops ran and smacked him to the ground, took the gun away from him and lead him away in cuffs.
Anything can happen out there. I'm lucky that in all my years working the streets I've never had an incident where I was ripped off or hurt. Arrested, that's another story. . . . . |
