I've not used this idea yet, but I've prepared it with 2 possible similar variations.

At first I won't use the ball inside the package, but two other identical red gummi balls used for manipulation: they are as big as a golf ball and have an excellent grip (better then the ball in the package). And they are completely noiseless during the routine.

The two variations are:

1) Hide one of the two balls in the room (maybe inside a vase, or under the table or in another strange place) at the beginning of the show.

2) Put the two balls inside a bag at the beginning of the routine. Pretend to empty the bag (one ball remains inside) and show one of the balls. Put the bag near the trick "stand" (I have a bag which seems empty with only one ball inside).

The routine is now obvious: one ball disappers from the "stand" and magically reappears either in the "magic bag" or in a strange place inside the room.

I do not know which of the two effect variations would be better (maybe neither of these!) but I think Vanishing Point in itself is not a very stunning routine...

You can use 4D-trunk to reveal the similar ball Smile

Good idea, thanks! Smile

I never use the trunk with the golf ball, because in my opinion the ball is too big and produces too much noise.

I converted the little trunk into a trunk for "casino": I've coloured fiches inside... and then appear two very big coloured (round cornered) dice!

I've thought about this, and your idea to combine 4 Dimensional Trunk with Vanishing Point is really wonderful: besides this, I used only 1 or 2 times 4D Trunk, and in this way I can bring this little prop to a new life.

The routine could begin with a discussion about how to put the big ball inside the trunk (solid through solid): you show to the spectators that it's impossible (we begin from the end of the "normal" 4D routine!). Then the magician says that there is a method: the dematerialization of the ball! And at this point introduces the magic black platform, which has this very rare property... and puts the black trunk very near the platform! Smile

I find the paddle move with the 4D Trunk very interesting and new for me!

Thanks for sharing Smile
