This is a slightly odd question, but there you are.
I've had a Porper clip for a few months now, and I've noticed that when I take the cards out, it seems to have been bent slightly outwards. Is this normal? Or should I be concerned about it? It does seem unlikely that a clip this robust should be bent by a deck of cards, so is it just an optical illusion? Struan. |

That's the way it's supposed to be. Don't worry about it.

Speaking of card clips, Porper or otherwise, why would I want to use one? What benefit does that give?

Card clips helps to prevent cards getting warped from humidity. It also flattens out a deck that's all bent out of shape.

I've noticed the opposite--my porper seems to be bent slightly inwards. Bad?

Good. The clip is carved out of a single chunk of metal, rather than being bent in, which ensures that it will not bend outward easily. The inward bend is to keep the grip on your cards as firm as possible for the reasons Bulla's mentioned. Inward bend = doing its job perfectly.

Make sure you get a proper clip though. A standard pressed aluminum clip won't affect the flatness of the cards. It will only mildly protect the box. The difference is in the manufacturing process. Porper clips are not pressed. They are extruded and then machined.
