I posted an original T-3 dozen Tenyo shipping box on ebay. I would think pretty rare, most were probably thrown out by dealers after selling the stock years ago. Any history of similar item posted or purchased by anyone?

There once was a newer empty box for sale, it didn't sell. An old one like this could be interesting for a very fanatic collector perhaps.

These empty boxes are of little value.

It has Tenyo all over it. Considering only one was made for every 12 items it held. Considering the stock was removed and box thrown away in the 70's. I would think it a novel piece for a collector. Maybe still too early though. Thank you for input.

Considering that there were about 10,000 of every one of those boxes made, and that most people don't really collect empty boxes, I say good luck to you.

Hello,
It's an interesting item for serious collectors, a nice piece of history of Tenyo, yes it's rare because we don't see that kind of item very often for sale, but in fact the value remains very low. And this trick is not one of the best Tenyo, and was re-edited numerous times. Maybe an empty box of Ultra Tube or Side Track would be more sough after by collectors. I don't know. |

Just because something is old or even rare does not make it valuable.
You need collectors willing to pay to make it valuable. Considering that this forum is full of specific Tenyo collectors, many who pay a lot of money for rare items, and no one has contacted you... That should be telling. I think some completist somewhere would pay something for it but I doubt that person would be easy to find or pay much. eBay is going to hit the broadest market. Who knows? Maybe you get lucky. |

I have an empty blue Tenyo box as well, but I don't think of it as valuable, so much as simply being a curiosity. It doesn't perform any tricks, alas. A fetish that I keep it at all.

Those boxes are perfect for storing your Tenyo magic! Do not think one can place an accurate value on them but they must be worth something; at least to those who want them for use and/or collecting.
