I feel like it's less work to just buy one. Most of the DIY projects are not worth pursuing as the manufactured ones will obviously be better produced with quality.

I made my own dice illusion many years ago works like like this one. It doesn't need a stand to work you just place the hollow folded dice flat on a table or elevate it on something close one eye walk around and move your head around the illusion is amazing.
It's An Illusion Unless I Can't Fix It Then It's A Reality.
