Hello,
I was wondering if anyone had a reference for this tie/escape. I have used it for a long time, and I know it has been used for sceance/spirit work, but have no real reference. Thanks, Scott http://justgreatmagic.com/media/

The so-called "Chair Tie" was known to have been performed FIRST by magician BILLY BISHOP, circa 1940.
Later when Billy performed it at a 1948 Magic Convention...Percy Abbott stole the idea (as was common with him)...and marketed it as "Abbott's "Slick Tie". Don't believe me?,,,,,read it all for yourself in "The Life & Magic of Billy Bishop" (2000). |
