To all,
I’m getting a pair of trouser made from http://www.atailoredsuit.com to include a button fly along with hidden pockets (along with the Garrett Thomas idea he used with his coin work). Anthony Centeno has proven to have a quality product and excellence customer service. My question(s) to you all is (2-fold) in making the perfect pair of trousers for performing, in particular Invisible (ring float) does it make sense to have say an additional piece of cloth near the bottom part of the fly specifically to attach the pull so after repeating clippings the pull doesn’t damage the actual fabric apart of the trousers? Also what other ideas would you suggest to include with a pair of bespoke trousers? (Any specific effects, mentalism and or otherwise that would aid in a mysterious way) I don’t have Paul Harris’s stitched but was looking into although upon first glance doesn’t appear to by my style. Thanks, MW |

The best guide to magicians clothing still seems to be a publication from Charly Eperny written 1943: Magische Hilfsmittel und deren Anwendung. Pockets are in the side seams for silks or coins, there are extra front pockets and the waist is higher and has buttons to link gadgets. The higher waist is then hidden by the vest.
Cellini also shows some pockets on a DVD. He has additional back pockets that are used like a profonde. I also have false imitation pockets made from lining inside my front pockets - so I can pretend to turn my front pockets inside out to show nothing is inside. My real front pockets are quite deep. I can put giant cards inside. Richards Sanders Interlace - ring on shoelace - should not be forgotten. |

I have Invisible, and just simply clip the gimmick on the upper overlap of the fly. No need to get buttonfly or any other special pants.

There are a few different versions of a trouser "topit", wherein a secret inner belt line holds the pants up, while the outer waistline can be expanded outward to open the "topit" or collapsed closed, all on the fly (pun intended).

Hi 'magicwatcher'.
Could you direct me to some published sources of the trouser topit. I know of Tommy Wonder's. Do you know others? Thank you. Kris |

The Silent Butler, for one. I have one for sale if anyone is interested. PM for details. The "Workeroo" was another.
