I didn't pick up the method. I feel terrible. I need vitamin b12.

I had an idea for a different reveal for this.

Open the packets and pour the sugar into a small pile on the table.
Hover your hand over the pile for a few moments.
Then flatten the pile with your palm, and draw the correct image in the sugar.

Excellent thinking, Steve!

But at the risk of coming across as a 'hallway monitor' again - should this discussion not be downstairs?

Just sayin'

I love the idea Steve, great stuff!

I am glad to see that Sweet is getting the creative juices flowing already Smile

Sweet is truly impromptu and a great piece of mentalism/magic. It also has a method (that in my experience over many years)
Is simply invisible to lay people. Trust me, I have done this for many years all over the world and have NEVER been caught.

The diabolical principle behind Sweet was created by Christopher Taylor, I came up with the idea of using the principle with sugar
and added the window dressing. It's really a piece I am proud of Smile

As for real reactions, watch the ones in the demo to see whether are fooled or not. On the evening in question we only filmed Sweet
a few times and got the reactions we were looking for, we did not have to repeat the effect or film it for many people as it simply works Smile
It will work for you too and trust me when I say you WILL do this!

Have fun,

MJ

Matthew - I happen to know that you get (astonished) reactions whenever you walk up to women on the street!

Seriously, great thinking on this from both you and Christopher!

Although I said it seems transparent, I do think it would be strong. Is there anything else on the DVD or only this one effect?

Hi. This is not a DVD, it's an instant download over at Penguin and it's just the one effect.

I think the OP meant old sugar packets, not old restaurants. I guess there could be a correlation, but not necessarily a causation that could be proven through a statistical regression analysis.

Mike

Yea, old restaurants that people rarely frequent. The stuff on the tables doesn't get used. Ketchup, say, pepper, sugar etc. It sits around and dries up. I was at one the other day every packet I pulled out was dried out and like a rock.

Thank you. I agree Smile

Seriously I think it is a nice visual reveal.
In my book any thing that helps to add a visual aspect to mentalism is a good thing.
And it does,IMHO, lend some sort of relevance to the use of sugar packets.
