This looks like TOTAL FUN and the MIB bit is CLASSIC!
Another one of those why-didn't-I-think-of-this props.
How many magicians does it take to change a lightbulb? Regardless, for magicians darkness is a time for d'lite.

When I saw the first ad for this I thought it was a joke.
Seeing it work, I still think it's a joke. I'll pass. |

Flash Pen.
Does it function like a flash, where you get a burst of light or is it more like a flashlight, where you can turn it on and off? From the video, it looks like the latter. Anyone know for sure?

Looks just like a pen with a flashlight in the end of it.

Can this pen write?

Hello,
The Flash Pen does not write. It provides a bright burst of light.. The Electronics are all built into the pen so there is no room for anything else "ink etc"..It is no larger than the Sharpie itself and all self contained.. It is very well built and comes with it's own recharger. Best regards Paul Gross Owner Hocus Pocus |

I like it a lot. This is not an alternative to FISM Flash and TT Flash. In the DVD Greg Wilson had demonstrated many interesting ideas which are not possible with the other 2 flashes.

The supplied DVD does provide many ideas of how to use this..I personally think that this is a great way to enhance that special part of a specific routine and it is not meant to be overused. If used in the proper way I believe that it's a great utility item.

For those in the UK we have this in stock at Saturn Magic and as Paul says this is a great tool to enhance what you do or a bit of comedy.
I can't recall how many but the DVD gives more than a dozen ideas on how to use it are taught by Greg Wilson. The only thing that took me by surprise was that to use this in the UK or anywhere outside the US you will need to purchase an adapter plug which are very cheap on Ebay because the supplied charger is fitted with a US plug. Thank fully I have one so no problem there for me, its a shame it was not USB charged. Other than that it's well made and very bright as well. We have it here http://www.saturnmagic.co.uk/new-magic/f......ong.html

Thinking outloud- The initial use in a routine could be used as misdirection or cover and subsequent use in the performance could be as a gag prop. In this way it could get repeated use during a performance without over doing it.

Received the Flash Pen today.
It's a light that is housed inside a Sharpie marker. Mine is a fine point. The light is built into the side of the black cap. The switch is in the letter "a" of Sharpie. The switch is an on switch only meaning it's on only when it's depressed. The light goes off when released. To me, a strobe is a light that gives a quick burst of light and is then extinguished. This is not a strobe in that sense. It will stay on as long as you have the button down. Do I like it? Yes, very much so. At first I was disappointed that it wasn't a true strobe. But after a few minutes I liked the fact that I can control the duration of the light. I haven't looked at the DVD yet. I'm quite satisfied as it is knowing it works perfectly for what I wanted it for. Hope this info helps you out in your decision making. One last thing. Paul mentioned that it was a bright strobe light. I don't know what kind of bulb it is but it is a very bright light.

It is an LED light, and is indeed very bright. Not as bright as a FISM Flash, however being as how it is not concealed under clothing the actual end flash is about the same.
The DVD is rather boring, but in a good way. This isn't the excitement of just getting a new trick, this is more like going to a college class and learning a lot of great information - more than you'll ever actually use and apply. Greg Wilson's magic mind is brilliant and he covers a lot of ground with things like the Flippant Move and the Tilt and the Strike Vanish. Watching this DVD is a real education by an accomplished professor. I give it a thumbs up. I think the hardest part of this device is not over using it, don't under estimate the amount of attention a single flash creates. -JoeJoe
