Do you remember the guy on The Bunko Booth that cut his fingers off with a flick-knife and they dropped into a bowl? I can't remember his name for the life of me as I was but a boy and it was so long ago, but I've never forgotten it. Took the whole removing-your-thumb trick to a totally different level.

I saw Paul Daniels doing his Max Malini show in a tiny theatre in London a few years ago. It was absolutely mind blowing. There were a good smattering (collective noun) of magicians in the audience (along with some celebs - I was sat next to Jude Law and Martin Kemp!), and EVERYONE was fooled. Paul Daniels is a seriously talented guy. Incredible misdirection skills. These DVDs will be insane!

You would think so but Paul Daniels has been banned from the Blackpool convention

By none other than Derrick Leaver

While Blackpool have this joker running the show , it's no wonder the amount of people attending is getting lower by the years !

Really? last year was the highest number of attendees I believe

Ahhh...haha...awesome. Cheers for that link mate. Sheesh...I haven't seen that since it aired. I was twelve and it's stuck with me all this time.

So cool when he chops it off and it drops into the bowl.

Props for finding that.

One of the nicest and most approachable performers on the scene. A superbly talented entertainer, who along with David Nixon and Wayne Dobson, attracted record prime time tv viewing figures for many years. A great ambassador for Magic and an inspiration to many thousands over the last four decades or so...I very much doubt that Derek Lever's opinion ever has, or ever will, detract from the success and admiration which Paul Daniels has deservedly received...I for one will be adding the forthcoming DVD set to my wish-list.

I think Paul is brilliant and it goes without saying we will stock this when it out.

I'm not sure but I think it may be the same people as David Williamson has just used on his set releasing it?

"You're gonna like this, not a lot." The first 50 DVD's come with an authentic replica wig that he wore in the 80's.

Am sure that even Paul will laugh at the wig jokes(although he now probably thinks they are "old hat".

One thing nobody can deny though, in his day he was brilliant. In fact what am I talking about "Was brilliant" . HE STILL IS BRILLIANT.!

I WOULD SAY HE IS PROBABLY BETTER THAN HE HAS EVER BEEN !.

If everyone on the Café performed for a lay public audience and Mr Daniels was on the same bill, he would get the most laughs, applause and fool people the most.

Lots of lessons to be learnt on this set of DVDS.

I will be getting these just to watch him perform.

Paul is a living magic legend.

That clip of Meir on the Paul Daniels show just reminded me how generous Paul was in sharing the limelight with other magicians..on his show !!!

He got a lot of exposure for other magicians through his generosity.

I can't wait for these to come out, I think Paul is just brilliant.

I won't be checking these out before we offer them for sale!

I went on one of his magic days at his home, it was so great to be in his company for a whole day.

Just talking to the man about the way he does things and why was well worth the trip, let alone the chance to spend a day with him.

Debbie was there also which was another bonus she is so lovely.

I agree with you Toms192. I looked forward to watching the Paul Daniels show many years ago. what ever people say about him Paul was a great entertainer and showman and certainly had the gift of the gab, which you need to have when performing to people. Before Paul (when I was much younger) Was a genleman with a softer approach was David Nixon,it was watching magicians like these that gave me the subliminal messages to want to learn and become a magician.
