For giving a good show you need not load your pockets with anything. A good act can be done with just borrowed stuff. I'm sure v can easily borrow coins, rings, currency, paper, hankies. Cards n ropes not that easily available but you can plan accordingly. As I grew in to magic I've realised its not what I've but "I/ME" that is magic. Regards, Raj.

2 or 3 of Steve Dusheck's Universal Packet Card Tricks w/ cards/effects I made up. Great stuff.
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

Really? You people have some strange pockets. And how are your going to use your cups and balls (really?... really?), swami gimmick, sponge balls in any practical sense out of a pocket filled with that much stuff? Dump your magic out and put some stuff back in your pocket? Awkward. If you put a chop cup in your pocket (and the balls and loads), you are done; you will not be able to maneuver around anything else (except MAYBE a single deck of cards).

I understand the spirit of the exercise, and I am the worst about carrying too much stuff. I guess I think about what can I carry in my (single) pocket that I can actually WORK out of; ie perform some magic without being awkward. So, I think about what is the most durable, and practical, and magical and can (really) fit into a (normal) front pants pocket (and still allow me to move): 4 silver coins, one copper coin (all 5 coins in a purse), 3 sponge balls, 8-10 rubber bands, and a deck of cards. I think it is fun to consider my second and third "lines of defense"; ie what would my pocket consist of on my second around the world trip?

I think the challenging exercise is to see how long you could actually perform out of that pocket. How many effects can you do with those props? After you disrupt your deck (for Chicago opener), how may FASDIU effects can you do (I came up with 10 I try to practice; I would love to share those and others' ideas). How long and how many effects with the 5 coins? With the rubber bands? The problem with Omni deck or chop cup (even the sponge-balls, for that matter), is that each is a one-trick pony; a lot of pocket space for one moment of magic (ok several moments with the chop and sponge balls, but you get my point).

Kenodad,

The spirit of the exercise was actually that the single pocket was a means of transport. Working out of a pocket would be a different (and cool!) thread.

Blindside: Great collection. I will have to look into some of those. My list includes many of those. Some you didn't include, but I am sure you do:

Chicago opener (I always start with this)
Spectator cuts to aces
Twisting the aces
Doc Daley's last trick
Card through hand (a biddle trick variation)
3 Chances (John Carey)
Breather card trick ( I'll Guess your weight)
Jay Sankey's Back in time
Untouched (Daryl)
4 Card coincidence (DeLong)

Those are some of my favorites and the ones I have honed; others, some of the ones you mentioned, I do not have honed or I want to work on.

Sorry, this post is off track, but I just wanted to respond to Blindside, who graciously provided a great list of impromptu card tricks.
