This hit Fox news (again....Fox is always the latest in last week's Internet Buzz)) and they're claiming Amazon is claiming that they will deliver your under-five-pound package in 30 minutes.
Bull. How fast would those puppies fly? 60 miles an hour? One package per trip? 2? 4? That would mean that, at the minimum, they'd need a series of warehouses, each full of everything, in a grid only a few miles apart. Or am I missing something?

If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

I can't wait. All those years of trapshooting are about to pay off big time.

Are we saying that we would like all the air traffic over head from every one using drones for whatever delivery?
What areas would be off limits? Would these be able to see a clothes line or big balloon ropes etc? Will they respect my yard airspace? The air traffic once this becomes popular will be a real problem and that means private folks with spy cams and such will be in the mix as well. Makes sending a bomb to someone pretty easy. I can't stop it but I'm not looking forward to it. The grouchy ("You Kids stay off my lawn!") Mary Mowder |

My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums. |

There has been few more examples. Heres one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7yJ8C5TbeY The whole economics is wrong with the drone idea. A van and man carries 60-70 parcels so they'll have to replace a SINGLE van with as many drones as the packages/parcels. Who will controll the drones ?? One man per drone ?? Will the drones knock the door ?? If the person is not in, what will the drone do ?? |

AOL rings in with this latest assessment...which pretty much matches ours:
http://on.aol.com/video/why-amazon-deliv......ebmail14 If this thing flies, and it well may in the next 10 years when all the little government problems are solved, it means that, above the trees, will be a zigzagging buzzing network of drones delivering packages and summonses (face recognition), and much peeking down your wife's blouse from above. Clusters of drones will crash into each other when TMZ and the Paps hover above Kim and Kanye's, Gaga's and that Bieber Brat's. No one will know when the Gov't is spying on you because it no longer has to...it just needs access to the commercial records of the Drone companies. Untold numbers of riff-raff will attempt to run into the blades to get that lifetime settlement from Amazon. Italian Gypsies throwing babies at Drones... And, as mentioned....trap shooting. Hit the target and your prize drops from the heavens. Better odds than the Carnival! Christmas shopping will never be easier or cheaper. Will Amazon send other drones to pick up the pieces? If you find an injured drone, do you help it? Ignore it? Recycle it? These and other social problems will rifen our livee. When the Drone experiment fails, they'll just put legs on them and there goes the Post Office! The age of the Jetsons is approaching. Run!
