Hi there, I'm a comedian and improviser in New York. I've been putting together a clown for a few months (I'm not sure what the end result will be, stage show or parties) and in September got drawn into magic at Abracadabra when I was there to buy some clown props. I've been dipping into a lot of different things in the past few months, and am now tying my own loops, practicing regularly with my tarantula, and slowly learning cardistry, spongeballs, and coin magic. You may see me walking through Chelsea absentmindedly making hankerchiefs appear and disappear, over and over.
This forum has been invaluable to me and I look forward to learning more and more. norton |

Welcome wolfgangnorton,
You seem to be doing a lot of Adult Close-Up Material for a Clown. I'm not saying it can't work, I'm just saying that while you are building your Character and repertoire is a good time to consider this. Do you work mostly for (or want to work for) Kids, Families or Adults? -Mary Mowder |

Hi Mary!
I think I want to perform for adults. I know I'm at cross odds between my magic interests and my clown. My clown is more of a WC Fields type, and I think I might be able to put together a show that incorporates close-up and conversational pieces, to make a more intimate feel. I still haven't made my vision completely solid, but I'm getting closer every day. |
