Got both of these (And the MOAB too which I've had for a while). Purchased the notes first and thought that they were ok - that is, until I bought Marc's professionally produced DVD.
My gosh the book test alone is worth the price of admission. This is coming from someone who owns MOAB, has some very bright friends and who became a little too interested in MOAB (owners of the effect will know what I mean). I performed Marc's test with someone else's book - blew the first try intentionally, got the second (listen to Koran's DVD to hear Al doing the same thing - first blowing an effect then nailing it) and blew folks away. Of course, I do my reveals slooooowwwwwllllyyy, looking like I almost lucked in to it so, as always, 99% presentation, 1% effect. BTW, very hard to pull it off if you haven't seen Marc do it on his DVD. Good luck to everyone. |

I had the same feeling.
the lecture notes don't describe it in enough detail, but after watching the DVD I completely changed my mind. |

I can only assume that Ted created his MOAB before creating his own "Million Dollar Book Test" for many reasons - which, of course, I won't go in to here.

As I've mentioned on another post, be aware that there might be some compatability problems with the DVD. It's produced in the UK and my US-bought DVD player would not play it correctly - it was skipping from section to section, and certain sections simply couldn't be accessed. I was able to view it on okay my computer's DVD player, but with a warning (from my computer) that it required my DVD software to change its "region" and that I could only make this change a few times before causing problems.
I don't mean to disparage the DVD at all. I am just honestly reporting my experience. Perhaps my experience was unique. I don't know. I think that there are some differences in DVD formats between the U.S. and Europe. Steve Hoffman Takoma Park MD |

It is my understanding that Ted's 'Million Dollar Book Test' (which baffled knowledgable PEA members at a MOTM several years ago) contains a number of subtleties that Marc's does not, making it an even STRONGER effect that has fooled many of mentalism's brightest people.
I believe his tome is finally due out this Spring! Thom |

Many subtleties are shown on Marc's dvd too which aren't mentioned in his lecture notes - something about a pad and paper for those in the know...also, his "dirty work" is accomplished brilliantly...

I was having problems playing the DVD as well, but I fixed it by setting the region code on my DVD player to 0. (Region free)

The credit to this book test should be given to Alain Nu.

Yes, and to Richard Busch, and to Ted Karmilovich and to... many others before them...

But Alain Nu was the first one...

If you refer to the p**k concept, he was not the first one. If you mean that Nu had the same effect of Marc Paul, then I don't know.

Marc performed the book test on national uk prime time tv which looked sensational.he labels the effect under the anytime anyplace anywhere concept.to see the real beauty of the move you need to see the dvd .the notes just don't give it justice.
good luck. hmk |
