Protesters have topppled the monument to Russian revolutionary leader Vladimir Lenin in Kiev's Bessarabskya Square.

I skim-read the article and noted that they are opposing their leader's attempt to form closer ties with Russia. Perhaps they see this as a potential return to the old Soviet connection.
Once the statue was down, many people went at it with hammers. I wonder if everyone's attempt was for destruction, or when we will see souvenir Lenin chunks on Ebay?

The opposition party of jailed former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has urged people to "chase" the president "until he falls". - BBC They tell them it's about one thing and then after they find out it was about something else.
