Rates change in less than a week now.

New rates are in this PDF from the Canada Post website:

For those wanting to save look into addressed ad mail.

For addressed admail to work, you have to send hundreds or thousands of letters / postcards at the same time. I checked into this after you mentioned it back on page one / back in December.

The most mailings I've ever sent off at once is about 250 or so. And each one was hand-addressed (I don't use labels or print onto the envelopes), so that doesn't work for addressed admail, as well.

But I'm sure it works fine for some who do a higher volume all at once, and are more automated.

Just curious - if the rates are taking such a jump, will Canada Post let you use P stamps bought before April 1st?

The "P" stamps always work for the going rate, whatever that is. That's why they are "P" (Permanent) stamps, and not 63 cent stamps... they do sell both.

Canada Post stopped selling "P" stamps back in December, and I think they'll be resuming in April at the new, higher rate (I think I read something about them starting to sell "P" stamps again in April, as well as 85 cent stamps).

Even though they stopped selling them for a period, you can still use them.

Technically, you can even use a "P" stamp that you bought 10 years ago... that's the way they work.

The US Postal Service has been going through it's own changes (re-organization, price increases, etc) for the same reason as Canada Post (declining mail).

I think Kramer predicted this 20 years ago!
