So, I had a school assembly show for around 200-300 adult students that were mentally challenged. My opening effect is a real story of how I got into magic, with my Uncle Ron showing me the 'floating glass' (classic thumbtip on the glass version, he actually taped a paper tube to the glass) when I was seven. So, I decide to show them the first effect I saw as a boy, (a souped up version; airborne) All of sudden, a guy comes running from the side of the room, and death grips my Pepsi can and is sucking down the colored water. He has a nurse on his back, I still had a hold of the can, feeling it is crushing all the time. I let go, hoping he wasn't going to get hooked and the can spilled and then went into the trash can. The audience laughs as I flawless go into my second effect as if though it never happened.
The show ended up being one of my best shows I ever had. As far, as my music scores and feeling about the show. I debut a few new effects 'cardiographic' and a new version of the 'floating bill' both were really nice pieces. The cardiographic I spent building all the last two weeks and finished 10 pm the night before the show. But it was flawless, with great 'copperfield' mind reading music, if you guys remember that. It was really fun and the guy that hired me said "The show was awesome" and they are going to get me back next year. I got me a new 'airborne' can coming! |

I used to do an annual show for developmentally disabled adults, and though they are challenging they are amazing audiences. You really get the rock star treatment from them.
One year I said something that triggered an episode in one of the audience members and he started throwing chairs around. It was an exciting moment for all. |
