John, despite our weather hockey is not all the popular here in Wisconsin. That's not to say there are no hickey fans, and there are hockey teams, but nothing like baseball, football, or even soccer. We have an American Hockey League team, the Admirals, but it simply is not as popular here as in other cities.

Any time someone performing a service and exceeds your expectations you should tip. The purpose of a tip is to reward exceptional service.

Entertainment is a service. As such tipping is appropriate as is expecting a tip. A tip is not a part of your income like it is for a waitperson though. They have their base compensation reduced by the expected tip amount. In this case tipping is obligatory. The only question is how much.
