This is quite good. There is one part of the demo that is misleading. Unless I am missing something, I don't see how you can have 12 outs from one piece of paper. To get that number of outs, you would need to use the very deceptive switch. Despite this one misleading aspect of the demo, I highly recommend this. The package is complete, directions are clear and the method is deceptive.

There is a switch involved to show the 12 different outs?

I don't think a switch is required...did I miss something?

Unless I am oblivious and missing something on the instructional DVD, I see no way to achieve 12 outs without a switch. with that said, I still recommend this.

Smacks183 is right.
I was expecting some clever origami which allows one to have 12 outs in one folded piece of paper. I am disappointed as this cannot be done. The Demo which shows that a piece of paper can be continuously opened up to reveal 12 different zodiac signs is outright misleading. You will need a switch for that. In actual fact, a single folded piece of paper can only contain up to 4 outs without switching. With switching, you can achieve outs of up to even 400 in number with just 100 pieces of paper! I first came across this concept in a TA Waters effect, in which the spectator is asked to choose a random number from those written on a piece of paper folded in quarters. Later, the spectator is asked to look at the same piece of paper again and concentrate on his thought of number. The magician can then reveal the chosen number without having to ask any questions. The origami employed in the TA Waters effect (2 outs) is different from that in Way Out (4 outs). Verdict: As a consumer, I want my money back as I was expecting something quite different from what I get. Well, I got 4 out of 12, viz one third of what I expected. |

Wow, I am disappointed in Marc Oberon's deceptive marketing. I expected a higher degree of ethics. I believe all consumers will be eligible for refunds, considering that this the marketing behind this is outright false and absolutely tricks the consumer into believing that he or she is purchasing something that is not true.

Mine hasn't arrived yet, a double annoyance I ordered it from Alakazam where it showed as in stock, I then receive an email to say it is on back order. Now I discover that it is only. 4 outs not the 12 that were advertised (annoying as the effect I want it for requires 12 outs. My Miller Miracle wallet already perfectly covers 4 outs. I will reserve judgement until it arrives but so far I am not impressed with the situation.

I will ask him again. He indeed confirmed also that 12 outs are certainly not for close-up..... and to complicated to do it swiftly and without hesitation. |

Again, I don't have the trick. I have this information only from second hand. Can somebody who owns this trick confirm this or correct this? |

"Marc Oberon's Way Out is a versatile utility item that enables a single, folded piece of plain paper to contain the outs for anything up to twelve different predictions"---this is the ad copy.

As far as I have seen performed it live, you don't have to "switch" papers.
However, when you want to have more outs than 3 (4 according some posters), your "paper(s)" becomes... On stage, you can get probably away with it. On the positive side, I must say that the presentation with only 3 outs is VERY clean and you can make the paper in any format (dimension) that you like. Mod: If this post is to much disclosure, please delete it. |

Totally misleading with the promo video showing Mark display the 12 zodiac signs in a row.
I would have been extremely upset if I bought this, thanks all for the heads up. |

No problem. I will take another look through the DVD in case I missed a section, as I was only focusing on the zodiac routine. But, as far as I can tell at this point, it is 4 outs without a switch.

One of the shops here in Japan said the same thing as smacks, only 4 outs per sheet.

Have to agree with mysticalsales, if it is a case that you need to switch out as only 4 can be used - per piece of paper - then the promo vid is extremely misleading as you clearly see mark opening 12 outcomes from 'one' piece of paper! Or is it a case of its 3 pieces of paper together (which would make the gimmick quite thick) If this is the case then the opening action could give you the 12 outcomes (4 outcomes on each piece) as shown in the promo vid.
