I have been doing cigarette manipulation for 15 years, and have won many competitions doing my " Smoking in the Boys Room" routine. But as many people have already said it is a dying act, and can only be done it certain venues. I have found out even many magicians at conventions find it taboo. I agree it is very cool looking to watch when done right. I have since taken all those moves and come up with a Coloring book routine producing crayons instead of cigarettes for children's shows and golf tees in my golf routine for adults . Have you tried Chavez to learn more about cigarette Manipulation ? |

That is wonderful. It references what I was saying previously. Learn cigarette manipulation moves but interchange those moves with different objects such as crayons or golf tees etc. Nicely done Excaliber.

John Carney uses some cigarette moves in his color changing knives routine. It can be seen in his Greater Magic video produced by Stevens Magic.
Last year I saw John Calvert do a cigarette routine that was nice. He gave a talk against smoking cigarettes at the beginning. His performance and some sketchy explanations are available on a video tape. A Google search would probably locate it if you were interested. |
