Got it today, read it front to back...now I´m reading it for the second time today. It´s that good!
My background: Loved magic for 25 years, always wanted to do paid gigs but never had the courage. Faced my fears some years ago and went pro.

Okay, I got this today on the back of this thread and with my first strolling gig fast approaching.
How can I not be dissappointed. I mean it is far from cheap, easily the most expensive magic book I have bought. I got Michael Ammar's book for half the price, it also has essays on performing, being professional, negotiating fees and contracts. Plus it also has tricks with full descriptions I find near impossible to follow and loads of illustrations I can't follow. It is also very large so doesn't fit on a shelf in my living room and is hardback and heavy so I can't really take it anywhere. This so called brilliant book by Jamie, has no wasted words, it is easy to understand to the point of being enjoyable. It has no illustrations and it is a light paperback I can anywhere and dip into at any time. While it contains no magic tricks it contains all the tricks you need to choose the tricks you should be doing given your style and character. It is simply full from cover to cover with nothing but extemely useful advice, practices and exercises. If I follow this book (process) I can see myself growing in to a true professional magician. It is a brilliant work. Thank you very much Jamie for a reassuringly expensive book which is worth every penny. It is Friday tomorrow everyone! |

I've been reading this book for a little while and it's probably one of the best buys in magic. It's helping me to get out of a rut and going full steam ahead! I had run out of usable ideas on what to do next, but not anymore.
