Hey folks, does anyone know where I can get a large men's silk handkerchief that's opaque and thick for close-up use? Sears and JC Penny used to carry them in the men's tie section. They had a nice size and shine to them and you could not see through at all. They also held up to abuse. They were 19" square. I used a dark purple one for years, but nothing lasts forever.
Apparently both department stores (and others) now only carry pocket squares of similar quality, which are too small for most effects (ie: Gary Kurtz' Copper/Silver Continuation). I tried an online silk handkerchief website, but the silks are too small (about 16.25"). Does anyone know where I can find these great "non-magician" silks? Thanks in advance! |

You could also try a women's store.

Not sure where you would get a pocket square much bigger. Here is where I buy mine; I find the large size 16" square to be fine for most routines, your mileage may vary.

Thanks for this link, Arthur (http://www.saveonties.com/sitiehaset.html) - the site doesn't state the size, unfortunately.
Thanks for the Tie Bar link, tedski. I've actually visited this site before, but none of the colors I need are available in the 16" square (only 10.5"), otherwise, it'd be a great place to try. |

My best is a silk scarf from a woman's dress bought at a thrift store for $2
I use the dress fro archery practice since an arrow can go through a loose-hanging silk garment double magic!
