Hi folks,
on Penguin magic, they offer Carl Cloutier's "Bill in Kiwi" every couple of days for a mere $9.99. But for some stupid reasons ( I talked a lot with their customer service) they are forced to take a MINIMUM shipping price, which of course, makes it very expensive to make smaller purchases. So my question is: How does it cost in general to get a dvd from Penguin to your house, and from there to me (Germany?). Does anyone know the approximate shipping price? If the combines shipping cost is acceptable then, is anyone of you maybe so kind and giving me a helping hand here? By ordering the double dvd and then shipping it to me? I would pay you via paypal of course. One last note: The sad thing about this is, that Penguin has a shipping opton on dvds and flat tricks etc called: Flat Pack shipping, where they simply take the dvds outside of the fat box,a nd sending it in a thin envelope. This is a free internationals hipping. So one might think: that's perfect for Bill in Kiwi, cause it has no extra gimmicks, jsut two thin flat dvds. But penguin refuses to send those via flat pack shipping, because in their policy the flat pakc shipping is not really a shipping "option" but rather a special discount on this item itself. And therefore, as the blizzard cool box is also a discount, it is not combinable. Yea you read right. Though they could send the two dvds for a very low price to Germany, they won't do it because it is another discount. Though I personally know that shipping a dvd costs like nothing. STandard shipping to Germany on Penguin however is at lowest tier: over $22 (!) Very sad... Regards, Markus

Hi Markus,
I ship packages to Germany and other parts of the world. And unfortunately, the US Post Office charges me a fortune for international rates. Even from the USA to Canada is an extraordinary amount. So I'm afraid there is not much I, or Penguin Magic, or anyone else can do about it. All the best, Arthur Stead http://www.arthurstead.com |

Even for a flat box? It is just a dvd box with 2 dvds inside, nothing else.

If it weighs less than 13 oz you can send it by International First Class Mail. Should be less than $9.00 postage.

With packaging, 2-dvds would weigh about 4-ounces. Shipping to Germany by 1st Class Parcel would be $9.65.

Not to get completely off point, but have you checked anywhere over there for it? or is it an exclusive Penguin item. Even if it is (and I have not seen the routine) I cant imagine it being very (if any) different than a bill in lemon routine which Is in abundance in books, dvds and such. You may find it easier to find a bill in lemon routine and just change the fruit. Just an idea if the shipping thing doesn't work out for ya.

I have the Bill in Lemon. It is on the Bill Malone DVDs, and Penguin offers the Bill in Kiwi for only 10 bucks. that's why I thought, I get this for only 10, maybe I find some good additions. But I don't want to pay 22+Dollars shipping on a box which contains only 2 dvds. And other sites do not offer it for 10 bucks. It is pretty stupid situation. I personally think, that is penguin usually CAN offer low price shipping, they should apply it here as well
