Dopps number 88 touched down today. Wish I didn't have to rush to work the moment the postman left it. Today is really going to drag. Really looking forward to being able to sit down with these books.

Not only do the handlings & routines revolve around the books being in existence for over a century, but in addition the reverence a spec naturally exhibits for elderly books helps add an atmosphere of polish and sophistication to one's show. Additionally, a modern looking book might well have to be a modern title, and then I run into copyright issues. Therefore the answer to your question is, alas, no--that is, no more modern looking than the BToP and HotB books, both of which were very 'gently' aged to give the impression that they have been well cared for. (BTW, 'gentle' aging is a lot harder than the rough and tumble look of J&H because it requires a snail's pace production practice to tease out just a blush of antiquity on each page . . . and, *gulp*, the next Dopps looks to be another revered title that will also require kid-glove aging in order to get the look and feel right. The next title in Dopps I hope and expect to have ready to launch in the mid-year, perhaps as early as late June/early July. I am already in the process of coding it, and have been at it for the past three weeks.) Best, BC

I understand perfectly. I won't miss the next. Will it be a one book release or 2 close releases?

These are things of great beauty, still have to get my hear round the performance options because this is so different from all my other book tests but the books are fantastic it's hard to believe these are brand new custom made books. My poor old Poe looks like it hasn't always been stored in the best or dryest location. I can't see how these books could arouse even the slightest suspicion.
To the untrained eye these are just tatty old books, to the trained eye these are fairly well preserved valuable old books. I'm actually reading THOTB, never been able to do that with a book test (well I can read area but the stories aren't exactly scintillating. These are the most beautiful kind of naff looking props I've ever had the unmitigated pleasure to hold in my hands. Actually I'd better leave these to a magician or a magic club in my will just in case my kids inadvertently sell them to a book collector when I shuffle off this mortal coil. Mark |

I purchased all 3 titles and the Accessory Pack.
I know this may sound silly but they are life changing to me. Going to go full speed ahead with these and not look back. I'll probably have a lot of magic to sell since my focus has forever changed. |

Curious if anyone has performed a 3 book full doppelganger effect to an audience. Review perhaps?

I have had the opportunity to perform it twice. Once just a few days ago. Both reactions were of amazement. Both groups were freaked out and enjoyed the back story very much. There are a few parts in the routine where the spec is asked to change pages or stay where they are. You can see the internal stress level rise. A great routine. The props are never questioned, and so far everyone has enjoyed it, including me. It is a rare treat when you get to watch the magic unfold before your eyes and can enjoy the presentation yourself.

Steve I misread your post. I simply saw three book and just started typing. No I have not performed that yet, but yes Gh*st fits perfectly into it as the Dr. stated.
