Mine too. I've seen this one many times, it's great. mastermindreader mentioned Fred Allen in the forgotten stars thread, which of course made me think immediately of Jack Benny. I don't think many people realize what a massive star, and a massive talent, Jack Benny was. Or what a long successful career he had.

Yes, pretty much forgotten I expect.
I would like to try an informal poll: if you are under 45 do you know who Jack Benny was?

"but I was booked for a week"

I'm a year too old for the poll. My girlfriend never knew who he was until we started watching some of the old shows on TV together, now she loves him.

How many magicians could benefit from studying Jack's character development?

Great vid, landmark, thanks! I watched the whole episode and with this type of entertainment were still on the tube...
Also known, when doing rope magic, as "Cordini"

Age-wise I'm too old for the "under-45" poll. But I didn't know anything about Jack Benny until I emigrated to the USA in 1974 (I was born and raised in Africa without TV). So I found out about Jack Benny in retrospect by watching re-runs. And IMHO he was one of the greats. Incredibly funny and uniquely talented, with impeccable timing and wit. And that marvelous dry, self-deprecating sense of humor. Just a joy to watch!
