Hello all! I'm new to teleFoto and I'm absolutely loving it. (GRo you're awesome!!) I have a couple of questions if anyone bothers to answer:
1) For the first ten or so "uncoded" photos, what should I do/say to naturally urge them to go on? What I did was say "go ahead swipe through them", but many times they don't want to swipe that far and I just awkwardly tell them to swipe some more. It just seem unnatural. I know they are important as they convince them that there are lots of random photos, but do any of you have a better way of doing it? 2) What is the best way to respond when they want to go to Google Images or other photo sites and want me to do it again after I did the trick? I assume it's quite common. Thank you all so much! TTTYD |

Hey TTTYD,
I don't use the pre-made albums any longer but when I did I said "I have some pictures that I took in Vegas and there is a lot of them. Now in a second I am going to ask you to stop on a photo and really concentrate on it. But first I don't want you to think I memorized the first couple of them so I want you to cut to somewhere near the middle of them but flipping through them fast. Okay go ahead" ...(pause for a second) and then say "alright stop now you can pick one you really like...go ahead and choose one and concentrate on it, really get a good picture in your mind and concentrate on sending that picture to me!" You get the idea ....don't make a huge deal out of it and it won't be a big deal. As for your second question. Give them a reason you are specifically using those photos. Such as Google Smell Beta or there is no shame in saying you need to be familiar with the photos. You are not seeing through their eyes you are using your skills of perception, psychology and deduction to know which picture they will choose. At least that is the way I look at it. I also recommend that if you want maximum use out of TeleFoto you pick up the TeleFoto Extreme ebook.

Hey everyone, I'm just wondering if this works with the pebble watch? I thought I read that it could possibly be an option but I'm not sure if it ever ended up happening.

I think Greg is working on it but no word yet. Maybe I am weird but I don't get the idea of using a pebble watch especially for something like TeleFoto. If you were going to tell me that the vibration or photo could be seen on a regular "looking" watch then I would be all for it. But don't most pebble watches scream "hey look at me I am wearing some new high-tech gadget"? So yes you can hide it, or put it in a less conspicuous place but doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose? Perhaps I haven't thought about it enough. What do I know, a few years ago I would have never used an app in my act, now apps and my iPad make up more than 40% of my show. I do use prefer apps that seem to be never in play during the actual routine.
Could someone with more knowledge of pebble type watches enlighten me? --Gordon

Hey Gordon,
For me, it's the other apps such as iunlock that the pebble really shines. The only reason I was asking about it for this as my Phone, when vibrating, is quite loud. In certain environments, it can be heard while in the pocket which isn't always the best thing if using g it to perform.

I am late, just found this thread... Jamie, I do agree with you. A combination with a Pebble would be very usefull indeed. Just look at MagicWebFx and you see what could be possible. Jan

My vibration code got so confusing when I have more than 20 pics, I found especially hard with iPhones when perform standing up. Compatible with Pebble would be awesome!

With the app runing and opened on the iPhone it should be possible to make it visible same time on a Pebble. Jan

Another vote for pebble integration.
I use my pebble to peek things all the time, you must be discreet, but trust me it flys by everyone. If really nervous you could just take it off your wrist and peek it when you get a pen from your breast pocket etc. I personally just reverse the direction its facing and keep it under my sleeve. But, as mentioned, vibration codes get hard after a certain number of photos. Also, there would be no need for mneumonics. In addition, you get to title the photos in Telefoto, so just outputting that alone could really help. After seeing what MagicwebFX came up with, I've become super excited at the possibilities...MWFX is, as far as I'm aware, the first to use Pebble to SEND to the corresponding app, not just recieve. Brilliant. Imagine Pebble integrated with SuperThump (to output specifically) for example... |

How can a Pebble watch be used to send an input to MagicWebFX as DynaMix states?
Any ideas...I can't see how! |

Just bought this app and I do not like it. Waste of money if you ask me. I have been caught every time in some of the loudest places. The vibration is too loud and if I leave it in a place where I can see it it is too obvious. I am not happy with this at all especially when the spectator goes to the website they see this in the address bar: http://tele-foto.appspot.com/album/?id=10118-0. Kind of gives it away if you ask me. I like Greg's other things but this does not do it for me. Anyway, only $50 so no big loss. I will find some useful way to perform it, maybe on stage.

This is a great app and I've never been caught using it once. Something must be up with your case if the vibrations are so loud.
Also, how are you presenting it? You know there's a way to remove the web address you were taking about right? Have you spent a lot of time playin with the app or setting up a deceptive site with a routine that distances itself simply from the picture selected? |
