Those of us who know scripture know that the god you are speaking of is not the same God as taught to us in scripture. You are free to believe what you want to believe, and you can choose to follow your heart, but being a Christian is first believing the Jesus is God, God in the flesh. To deny this is to deny the true devinity of Christ. You also do not believe in the many same characteristics of God of Abraham.
Ezekiel 21:31 "And I will pour out mine indignation upon thee, I will blow against thee in the fire of my wrath, and deliver thee into the hand of brutish men, and skilful to destroy." This contradicts all your statemnts about God never getting angry. Matthew 7:21-23 "Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many wil say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them , I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." Do you know how to detect a counterfeit? By studying the real thing. By studying the Bible, ( not listening to our heart, for God tells us our heart will decieve us) we will know when someone brings to us another God and not the one true God described to us in the Bible. 2 Corinthians 11:3-4 "But I fear , lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not excepted, ye might well bear with him." 2 Timothy 3:16 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." How then can this be if everyone is allowed to interpretate the scriptures how they see fit, or from their heart that deceives? Jeremiah 17:9 " The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" 1John 8 " If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." Willingly, or unknowingly, you are presenting to us another god that is not the God of Moses, the same God as Abraham, the same God who inspired and breathed life into the collection of scriptures contained in the Bible. If you were not originally aware of this, has it been brought more to light since your original post advertising your book? If not, can you please provide scripture that supports the claims and denials you have made on this thread so we can search the truth within the Bible together, and perhaps discover what most here are getting wrong, if that be the case.

Hello again Danny. I am unsure whether you intended to repeat your earlier post, but if you did, my response is the same. There is only one God. There is no such thing as your God and my God. There is only one God, and He is the divine power within all of us, and in all creation. That power is pure love...nothing more and nothing less. See you in Heaven, my friend, and we can talk about all this over a cup of coffee!!! JR

No, didn't mean to repost. I am on my tablet and sometimes when I go back it reposts on me. Dave and I have discussed this, and I forget to not use the back button on my tablet, but use the back button on the site.

As some of you may be aware, it seems my book is causing a great deal of interest both on magician's forums and social media. As mentioned earlier, I believe the book could be of great value to gospel magicians, and I am most grateful for the interest shown. I do have a question for those of you who do gospel shows. As will be evidenced by remarks made in this thread, you will realize that I do have a very different intepretation of some of the words of Jesus than some of you good folk do. I see nothing but love, kindness and compassion in the words and stories surrounding the life of Jesus of Nazareth. I am not talking about the terrible things that occured like the crucifiction, but the way that Jesus dealt with the horrors that surrounded him in Palestine at that time. He dealt with them in an amazing loving way. Do you think that doing gospel shows that focus on the way you lead your life as a good, kind, loving soul would be what Jesus would want, without talking about judgement, attonement, heaven and hell, and possibly putting an unwarrented fear into the minds of little children? Here you are, Terry: There is great discussion on this Facebook group about Roger's book mostly by Roger himself of course:https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/587851321305149/

I see that didn't come out right. However, if you look on Facebook for a new group just started called "Not the Magic Café" you will find what you are looking for. It is NOT a magic Café bashing group. Roger is a prominent member. I understand that Steve Brooks will soon be invited.

As far as I know this is the only public forum with a thread about it, but I could be wrong. I do know there is a great deal of interest out there by magicians and other entertainers, as the subject matter is unique. Once the book is published, naturally all the content will be out there in the open, with likely both positive and negative reviews. I hope you will get the chance to read it one day!!! Blessings! I have read many excerpts from the book. Anyone who has read Roger's articles in MUM magazine will recognise what a good writer he is. This book has very little to do with religion and a lot to do with spirituality and good common sense advice which applies to anyone, Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist,Spiritualist and even atheist. It is the only book of its kind written for magicians on the subject although I vaguely remember that Dr Tarbell wrote some article or other about it at one time.
Having said that I have absolutely no idea why Roger is talking about it in the Gospel section since it has utterly nothing to do with the Bible or Christianity whatsoever. I suppose this section does have a tenuous connection to "spirituality" but knowing Roger I suspect it is a marketing ploy more than anything else. In other words he is after your money. May I remind him about camels finding it relatively easy going through eyes of needles in comparison with him getting money out of the decent churchgoers of the magic Café. |

I am really not interested in any money made from this book. I have made a very comfortable living out of entertaining all my life, so material wealth is now of little importance to me. I am simply interested in making magicians, which includes Gospel performers, aware of the infinite possibilities that life both on and off stage has to offer when you connect with the divine. JR |

I believe in one God and one power. So many of the problems of the world have been caused by religion getting in the way. The old "My God is better than your God" argument. "Lutherans are right and Methodists are wrong!!" Yes, of course it is the same God we are all worshiping. Jesus preached a message of love, peace, and acceptance of all, without judgment. I am not a fan of religion. I am a fan of the message of Jesus Christ, which was one of love, peace, joy and abundance. It was not a message of division. I think Jesus would be rather upset the way man has interpreted some of his gospel.JR
[/quote] Actually Roger Jesus did preach division "Luke 12:49-53 (New American Standard Bible) Luke 12:49-53 New American Standard Bible (NASB) Christ Divides Men 49 “I [a]have come to cast fire upon the earth; and [b]how I wish it were already kindled! 50 But I have a baptism to [c]undergo, and how distressed I am until it is accomplished! 51 Do you suppose that I came to grant peace on earth? I tell you, no, but rather division; 52 for from now on five members in one household will be divided, three against two and two against three. 53 They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.” |

Roger. Since you are not interested in money I do commend you for offering to give away free copies to everyone on the magic Café. As the good book says, "It is better to give than to receive".

So what if it is? He is after all the only ordained minister on this thread and as such is perfectly entitled to preach his own version of the gospel. And he is actually more spiritual that you think he is. Roger will confirm that.
