Amen and AMEN! You beat me to it, brother. The authority of Scripture is reliable and its accuracy is evident. We can not add or take away from the message of God.
We are even warned against it: Deuteronomy 12:32 What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it. Revelation 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: When it comes down to it, we are either forgiven by Christ and Heavenbound or condemned and Hellbound. Salvation is as simple as that. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

I appreciate your comments, gentlemen. I am indeed familiar with all these Bible quotes. "The course in Miracles" is not contradicting the Bible.....far from it! The Bible was written 2000 years ago, and has gone through many different translations from the original Aramaic. Books like the Gnostic gospels(some of which are most enlightening) were removed. I remember my late father, who was an Anglican minister, being horrified when "The New English Bible" first came out. He disliked the modern language, and always read from the King James version!
As stated, I am open minded about whether Jesus was indeed speaking through Helen or not. I don't feel it is that important. What is amazing, however, are some of the messages in the book, which are indeed the same messages of love, peace, humility and forgiveness that Jesus taught. If you wish, you can see it in the same way as you see a hymn or a Christian poem that has been written by man. I am sure you would not condemn those. Jesus was, indeed, the way, the truth and the life. By following a path of love, which I try my best to do on a daily basis, I believe I am following the message taught by Jesus through his parables, and his life examples. The opposite of Love is Fear. I have no fear, I live a truly wonderful life as a professional magician, and I feel very blessed. I forgive everyone for everything, so I have no enemies. I respect the views of everyone on this forum. I have met one or two of you in person, and hope some day to meet the rest of you. Blessings to you all!!! JR |

<…. I am open minded about whether Jesus was indeed speaking through Helen or not. I don't feel it is that important.>
I was going to steer clear of this discussion but am unable to, now. I am not a theologian, ordained minister or even a graduate of a bible college. I've been walking with the Lord for 42 years and have listened to HIm, only. This statement is what sets things off. Jesus doesn't need any more mouthpieces. Everything he wants us to know is already written, proclaimed and done. To be complacent about regarding if Jesus is or is not speaking through someone is to adopt the attitude that there is 'more' to tell us. He needs humans to disperse (again) what he wants us to know. Scripture talks about this and presents warnings. The bible itself, culminates with a warning of adding or taking from 'these words'. JR, I want you to know that my words are NOT a personal leveled offense. I'd be going against what I know and heed from Jesus' words! You appear to have a good grasp of the 'gospel'. Even through this form of communication, which is so often tough to interpret due to lack of 'emotion', you come across as non-accusatory. Thank you. When it comes to "Sola Scripture" (Scripture only), there isn't any compromise. When it comes to the finished work of Christ, there isn't any compromise. Be careful of others saying they bring HIs words…. Blessings, Barry |

I respect your view, Barry, even though it is not one I share. I will have more to say later, but I have a busy weekend entertaining at birthday parties, and then I am off to the KAX children's entertainers convention in California on Monday. Blessings to you too, my friend!! JR

Roger, I wish you the best with your publishing of your book. I know many will enjoy reading it or listening to the audio, should you make one of those.
As a Christian, and a poor one at that, I find it odd that I follow two men who were of Hebrew faith. Jesus and Houdini. What say you JR?

Sorry BG, I retired so my days of pulling people over is over with. I did like the clip from the keele and pel show, I guess that is what it is called, when the officer did magic on the side of the road and changed a ticket into a free pass to the show.

I shall be giving regular updates on my new Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/SpiritualStage Do you still have the same metaphysical girfriend Glenn? It sounds like we may have much in common. Yes indeed Glenn. Houdini was Jewish, Jesus was Jewish and my knew friend Harris was Jewish!!! Funnily enough, in my younger days I worked for several weeks on a Kibbutz in Israel. This was soon after the six day war, and I got arrested. I also performed magic shows in the airaid shelters for the children of the Kibutznics. The story of all this is in the book, as well as my experiences in Bethlehem, where I was able to visit the spot where many say Jesus was born. These days, it is much harder to get into Bethlehem. I have visited the Holy Land on several occasions since then, both on my own and with my wife. I have had some profound experiences there as you may imagine. JR |

One of the common passages which has been quoted more than once on this thread is John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." To me, that simply means that by following Christ's teaching of Love, Kindness, and Compassion you will experience Heaven. Even those on planet earth who have never heard of Jesus, but who live Christ like lives, will also experience Heaven. Even an atheist can experience Heaven on earth. This is my opinion. This is my interpretation of that quote. Yours may be different, and that is fine. We are all on our own spiritual journeys in search of what we believe to be the truth. Thank you for allowing me into your world. I would also like to thank those of you who have sent me private messages for your kind words. JR |

Well, I have returned from a wonderful week at KAX in California. This has to have been the best convention ever, in the incredible location of Oxnard, California, with the hotel right on the beach. As some of you may know, the original Kidabra started, I believe, as a convention for gospel performers. These days, it encompasses many different faiths. Several people asked me about my book at the convention, so I decided to summarize the content like this:
"The Spiritual Stage is a book that is targeted towards entertainers, although many of its messages are for all. The predominant focus of the book is to create an awareness of the amazing unseen forces that are in us and all around us. By connecting with spirit, your lives both on and off stage will have greater meaning, and miracles will take place". There has been interest in the subject matter from Gospel performers, New agers and atheists! There is one magician at the convention who is a self-confessed atheist, and is actually lecturing at a convention for Gospel magicians in the UK in a few days. Just thought I would share this. I think it is wonderful when we can all connect with others, in a loving way, regardless of their beliefs, and not play the "I am right and you are wrong" game. I know that is what God would want. That's the problem. The Bible isn't open for interpretation. There is only one true interpretation, and it is by the Holy Spirit alone. There are many different denominations because man has made the mistake of thinking that they can interpretate scriptures without the Spirit. Then we have those who are in the Spirit correcting those who have mis interpretated scriptures. There are many versions of the Bible, but that doesn't mean they should all be excepted.
Western version of Christianity has been so watered down, that many actually believe that the Bible is just about teaching us how to be good people. They think that as soon as we die we go immediately into Heaven. They don't understand that the devil isn't in Hell but right here on the earth twisting God's truth, and blinding men from true knowledge. Not many actually read their Bibles anymore. Not like they should. And some people think it doesn't matter what Bible translation they should read, but anyone who has ever compared them all would attest that they are not the same. They listen to other people instead, or read other people's opinions and self interpretations of what they think God is meaning in scriptures. They are lost, leading the lost. The blind leading the blind. We have Christians saying, "I am a Baptist", "I am Lutheran Faith", "I am of the Pentecostal Church", while others caim to be of "The Mother Church" Paul said, "Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of A-pol'-los; and I of Ce'-phas; and I of Christ. Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?....." I encourage people to continue to read the entire first epistle of Paul the Apostle to the Corinthians. I have never openly declared what Church or denomination I am a member of, althugh some have made assumptions. The truth is, I belong to no denomination or Church. I belong to Christ. I do attend Church, but I have been to several different denominational churches, and I have been to the Catholic Church as well. One observaton I have witnessed is that all of them fall short of the true Glory of God. The reason I believe is because everyone of them have mis-interpretated some parts of scriptures do to lack of knowledge and perfect wisdom. We are, after all, imperfect. We should be preaching the Cross. We should be preaching with authority, allowing the Spirit to use us to convict the sinners to repentance. No, instead we preach whatever we want to under our own authority, preaching so as not to offend, believing that if we entertain them while speaking scriptures people will understand scripture more. They water down the real meaning of scriptures. However, you can see, it's nothing new. It was already happening in Corinth. Today, it has just become more widely excepted with very few defending against it. Quote: On 2014-01-25 20:50, Jolly Roger wrote:
