I am considering buying the SUC or SUC II. The Gen II really intrigues me but Mark Strivings is out of those in black right now and its unclear if more will be in. He says you can do this with it:

...you could show your spectator a folded slip of paper in your business
card case. They name any single digit number. You now remove the folded slip
and, written on it is the exact number they name.

...you have your spectator name any one of the ESP symbols and you then
show it to be written on the only folded slip of paper in your business card
case.

He says you can do this all with no nail writing. That really confuses me. Is this stuff really doable and practical? Is it worth waiting for the SUC II?

I know this is a biased opinion and there will be those who disagree, but the SUC (either version) is one of the most doable, practical, real-world, workable tools you can possibly have. Most guys are stuck purely on the peek feature of the SUC, which is the least of it's powers. Candidly I use it for a peek the LEAST of anything I do with it, and it wasn't what I originally designed it for. It just happens to work extremely well for that function, too. I use both versions of the SUC all the time under all kinds of conditions and it never fails to kill.

Just yesterday I worked some strolling for a 60th birthday party. Using the SUC (original version, in this situation) as part of the method, I was able to show that I had correctly divined the birthdate of the birthday girls daughter. It was folded in my case before I even asked a question. When she unfolded the card and read what was written on it her jaw hit the floor. She carried that card around for the rest of the party (showed it to everybody, too) and had me autograph a page in a scrapbook they were making, along with the card as a permanent memento.

This is real world, 'worker' stuff. The list of top working professionals all over the world who won't even leave the house without a SUC in their pocket is a mile long. I couldn't be more proud of what has turned out to be the one thing that I am best known for and the miracles that are being worked with it all over the world. One measure of the proof of its real worth is the fact that I am currently completely out of black Generation II's (and it will be awhile before I get more in due to the Holiday crunch...), even after all these years. The average shelf life of a product like this is rarely more than a few months before it fades into oblivion. The SUC and Gen II have been out for years and continue to sell regularly. I can't hang onto the things!

The fact that they sell is great and I won't deny for one minute that is wonderful to make a small amount of money from my efforts, BUT (for the more jaded readers out there who only think this is about money, which is actually a bit of a joke...), what is infinitely more gratifying are the almost daily reports (for YEARS now) from all over the world from guys who have come up with something they want to tell me about using the case. Or their latest success at 'blowing away' the last audience. That's where the juice comes from.

I hope I haven't offended anyone at my unabashed gloating over my brain-child. If so please accept my apologies. I just needed to talk!

I have been carying a SUC-II as my everday businss card case for well over a year and it is a great.

And has he said, although its a perfect peek case I find for my uses it functions PERFECTLY for "DO**** Writing" And, it looks great and carrys my business cards!

I DO NOT leave the house without my SUC II.

I cannot count the number of times I've used it--at some point every day, in fact.

I'm on the other side of Mark...I use mine expressly for peeking...and it kills.

I also use it a great deal in pre-show work.

Next to my MOABT--this goes in my case for ever corporate show I work.

Can someone please elaborate more on the differences between what's possible with SUC 2 and 1 and whether it is worth waiting for SUC 2 or I should just get SUC 1 now? Thanks.

Mark certainly isn't doing it for the money. If he was he wouldn't run out of stock and would be a SUC millionaire by now

Personally I wouldn't recommend using peek wallets for pre-show...this doesn't mean wallets don't have their place, but best use them in that place.

I have both. Frankly, I see no important difference between the two. Every MAGICAL function can be performed with either. I'd just get SUC 1.

The ONLY physical difference between the two cases is the number of pockets. The original SUC has two interior pockets and the Gen II has four. That's it, end of report. Virtually everything that can be done with the original SUC can be done with a Gen II, and vice versa. The main significant advantage that most guys find with the Gen II is much more storage space (the original reason for doubling the number of pockets to begin with). There is also a VERY cool billet index described in the manual that comes with the Gen II that you make yourself that can ONLY be used with the Gen II. It simply won't work with the original. Apart from that the uses for the two cases are pretty much identical.

If you have only one business card that you carry and are not planning on carrying anything else in your SUC, then the original is probably just fine for you. If you have multiple business cards (as many of us in this biz do) and/or are planning on carrying extra stuff in your SUC (center tear slips, credit cards, individual effects, etc.) then the Gen II is probably what you want.

As for the effect you quote from my catalog above, you can do this effect with either case. Obviously if you had a built in billet index (as is possible with the Gen II), then the above effect is pretty much self explanatory. If you want to use an original SUC, then you would have to go a different route. Not a big deal in either situation, trust me.

I have a SUC II and use it as my everyday credit card wallet, with my business cards on the other side. it never EVER raises suspicion. I initially used is primarily as a peek device but more often than not, now I use it as prediction device. Mark is great with delivery too. I live in the UK and it arrived within the week...fantastic!

So I guess my question should be how many of you use the SUC2 billet index?

Another quick question: can you use the SUC for peeking with ordinary thin slips of paper instead of the thicker business cards or is the case basically designed for use with the latter? In other words is the shape and type of the paper used for peeking important?

Anything you can fit inside the case, you can peek.

As for which one, I am a proud SUC1 owner, and I've never suffered from pocket envy.

In my very humble and often flawed opinion, if you actually perform for muggles, and if you like to create close-up mind miracles, and if you don't order this item, you're nuts. And BTW I think it's worth getting the Mk II rather than the Mk I. It doesn't actually make any strict difference to the miracles you can perform, but the Mk II handles better and looks better, in my view.

In agreement with the generally rave reviews posted. I have the MkII and was disappointed a bit at first that the gaffed edge flared out a bit from the seams (admittedly, unlikely to be noticed), but solved the problem by inserting a credit card in the non-gaffed portion of the 'business side'. The wallet now looks virtually identical on both sides, and I'm extremely pleased with it. I've found it difficult to come up with a justification that feels right to me for placing the card into the wallet after being written upon, but I'm still searching. It's been marvelous for loading/NWing though. Great product!
